Big 12: Kansas State vs Oklahoma State 10/29/22 College Football Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Kansas State Wildcats and Oklahoma State Cowboys clash Saturday in week 9 Big 12 college football action from Bill Snyder Family Stadium. Oklahoma State is fresh off a matchup versus Texas. In that one the Cowboys managed a seven-point victory. As for Kansas State, they played TCU in their last game. The Wildcats ended up losing by 10 points. Oklahoma State kicked off their 2022 campaign with a 58-44 win over Central Michigan, then a 34-17 win over Arizona State, a 63-7 win over AR-Pine Bluff, a 36-25 win over Baylor and a 41-31 victory against Texas Tech. The Cowboys took their first loss 43-40 (OT) versus TCU. 

In the Texas matchup, Oklahoma State was down 31-24 by the break. The Cowboys surged for 14 fourth-quarter points and ended up with a comeback win 41-34. Quarterback Spencer Sanders finished with 391 yards and two scores. Jaden Nixon rushed eight times for 64 yards. 

Over on the Kansas State side, their year began with wins 34-0 versus South Dakota and 40-12 against Missouri. The Wildcats lost 17-10 to Tulane, but then bounced back with wins 41-34 versus Oklahoma, 37-28 against Texas Tech and 10-9 against Iowa State. 

Matched up against TCU, the Wildcats had a 28-17 lead by halftime. Kansas State failed to score after that however and ended up falling 38-28. QB Will Howard put up 225 yards with two scores and a pick. Deuce Vaughn led the rush with 12 carries for 83 yards and a TD. 

The Cowboys are 21-4-2 ATS in their last 27 after an ATS win and 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 road games. Oklahoma State is 40-17-1 ATS in their last 58 in October. 

Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 4-1 ATS in the last five on turf and 4-1 ATS in the last five at home. Kansas State is 33-15-4 in their last 52 in October. 

PICK: I’m probably sticking with Oklahoma State. The Cowboys posted a nice victory on Saturday versus Texas, bagging 535 total yards (393 passing), 32 first downs and zero penalties along the way. Oklahoma State has scored 34 points or more in every game this season and should put up a nice number here as well. 

As for Kansas State, they had trouble with a tough TCU team in their last game. The Wildcats gave up 495 yards, 26 first downs and a 10-of-19 run on third-down tries. It’s not going to get any easier with this matchup. Should be a great game, though.
