In this article we will formulate a Charlotte vs North Carolina prediction for this College Football game on Saturday, September 6th at Jerry Richardson Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this week 2 matchup.Â
Charlotte 49ers Betting Preview
The Charlotte 49ers are 0-1 this year after they lost to Appalachian State by a score of 34-11 in their first game. Charlotte led 3-0 after the first quarter, but they didn’t play well in the second and trailed 17-3 at the half. The 49ers did cut the deficit to 27-11 early in the fourth, but they couldn’t get any closer in the loss. Charlotte was out gained by a total of 586-218, went 4-14 on third down conversions, and lost the turnover battle by a total of 2-1. Conner Harrell went 13-24 for 142 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the loss. CJ Stokes carried the ball 15 times for 49 yards, while Justin Olson caught two passes for 56 yards in the loss. The Charlotte defense was led by Kadin Schmitz, who recorded nine total tackles, while the team had one sack and three tackles for loss.Â
Charlotte was able to battle in the first quarter last week, but they were blown out in the second and third for the bad loss. The 49ers didn’t do much on offense and their 2.6 yards per rushing attempt was awful. This Charlotte team had a very rough week one showing and now gets to face a UNC team that won’t be in a good mood.
North Carolina Tar Heels Betting Preview
The North Carolina Tar Heels are 0-1 this season after they lost to TCU by a score of 48-14 on Monday night. North Carolina took a 7-0 lead on their first drive of the game, but they allowed the last 17 points in the half to trail 20-7. The Tar Heels allowed a touchdown on the first play in the second half and it was all downhill from there, as they allowed 28 points in the second half. UNC was out gained by a total of 542-222, went 1-10 on third down conversions, and lost the turnover battle by a total of 3-1 in the game. Max Johnson went 9-11 for 103 yards and one touchdown, while Gio Lopez went 4-10 for 69 yards and one interception in the game. Caleb Hood rushed 10 times for 31 yards and one touchdown, while Jordan Shipp caught four passes for 84 yards in the loss. The North Carolina defense was led by Andrew Simpson, who had 11 total tackles, while the team recorded zero sacks and three tackles for loss.Â
North Carolina started their first game against TCU with a bang on their first drive, but they were dominated from that point on. The Tar Heels were awful on defense and their tackling was a big issue, while the offense went just 1-10 on third downs. This is a big bounce back week for UNC, or the season could spiral.Â

Charlotte vs North Carolina PredictionÂ
North Carolina had a huge letdown to open their season last week against TCU and now they have to go on the road against a lesser opponent, so I question what their motivation will be. Charlotte also played poorly in their week one game, so this is a great opportunity for each side. I know UNC ended up losing by 34 points, but they are a much better team than that in my opinion, and I expect a better defensive effort here. The Tar Heels are still the way more talented team and I think they win going away. Take UNC to cover here.Â
