The Boston College Eagles and the Cincinnati Bearcats meet Saturday in college football action from Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati. Here’s a Cincinnati vs Boston College prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Cincinnati vs Boston College pick.

Boston College Eagles Betting Preview

The Eagles would like to move past last season quickly, as there’s not much to write home about. To be fair, Boston College was pummeled by a talented and competitive ACC, helping the team to go just 2-10 overall and 1-7 in the conference. In the standings the Eagles finished ahead of only Syracuse. Their two wins came versus the Orange in the finale and Fordham in the opener. Otherwise it was a string of 10 straight losses in the middle.

Bill O’Brien is back for his third year at the helm of the Eagles, and he’ll be joined by new defensive coordinator Ted Roof. The staff’s work is cut out for them, and it won’t be easy to find many wins in the ACC. Still, Boston College has plenty of reason to be optimistic with their revamped roster. Transfer Mason McKenzie figures to be pretty good at QB and ex-Liberty RB Evan Dickens should be good for some explosive plays this year.

Cincinnati Bearcats Betting Preview

Over on the Bearcats’ side, they were able to power out a winning record in 2025, but just barely. Cincinnati went 7-6 overall with a 5-4 run in the Big 12. That effort put the Bearcats around the middle of the pack in the standings, ahead of Kansas State, Baylor, Kansas, UCF, West Virginia, Colorado and Oklahoma State. In the Liberty Bowl however, the Bearcats ended the season on a down note with a 35-13 loss versus Navy.

It’ll be Scott Satterfield back in the head coaching role for the Bearcats this season, his fourth at the helm. Just about all the major assistant and coordinator positions have been filled by newcomers, however. In fact, the roster has undergone major changes as well. We’ll have 46 new players on the field and a new quarterback in JC French. The defense will get an overhaul under new coordinator Nate Woody, who brings an aggressive style that should be fun to watch.

Cincinnati vs Boston College Prediction

I’ll stick with Cincinnati but I’m probably staying away from this one. I’d like to see the Bearcats get a few games under their belt and develop an identity. The team does have a few known strengths, especially on the offensive line. That’s a great place to start, as Cincinnati allowed only eight sacks last season. The Bearcats otherwise will be relying on a big group of transfers to help them fight through a difficult upcoming schedule. Three of their last four games are on the road, and Cincinnati’s performance in those could very well decide their bowl eligibility fate.

As for Boston College, they’re just trying to show a bit of improvement. The good news is that the team added some pretty solid names in the transfer portal and odds are decent that they’ll win a few games this season. If McKenzie, Dickens and the rest of the offense can gel quickly, the Eagles can develop a little confidence before they run into the gauntlet of the ACC.
