The Duke Blue Devils and the Clemson Tigers meet Saturday in college football action from Clemson Memorial Stadium. Here’s a Clemson vs Duke prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Clemson vs Duke pick.

Duke Blue Devils Betting Preview

The Blue Devils started out their 2025 season with a pretty routine matchup versus Elon, rolling to a home victory 45-17 in the end. Duke would lose the next two outings however, falling versus Illinois and Tulane in that pair. A winning streak ensued over the next trio as the Blue Devils took out NC State, Syracuse and California in succession. In the October 4 matchup with Cal, the Blue Devils reversed an early deficit with 24 second-quarter points and rolled to the road win 45-21 in the end. Duke posted 443 yards in that one alongside 6.6 yards per play, 24 first downs and 5-of-11 on third-down conversion attempts.

In their most recent game versus Georgia Tech on October 18, the Blue Devils fell back into the loss column at home. Duke was right in the thick of things though, taking a 10-10 tie into the final frame. After a 17-8 run from there however, the Blue Devils had a home loss 27-18. Darian Mensah went 32-of-44 for 373 yards and a pair of scores, while Nate Sheppard carried 15 times for 50 yards as the team’s leading rusher. Cooper Barkate was the top team receiver with 13 catches for 172 yards in the loss, and Sahmir Hagans had five grabs for 69 yards and a TD.

Clemson Tigers Betting Preview

Over on the Clemson side, they had an unenviable home matchup versus LSU in their opener this year, but only fell by a touchdown. Following a win over Troy in game two, the Tigers lost to Georgia Tech and Syracuse in the next pair. Clemson would recover with wins over North Carolina and Boston College in the ensuing two games, though. In the 41-10 blowout win over Boston College, Clemson rolled to 504 total yards, 226 rush yards, 6.6 yards per play and 28 first downs. It wasn’t all perfect on offense though, as the Tigers had three turnovers. The defense kept things manageable with just 221 yards allowed and two takeaways.

Matched up against SMU on October 18 in their latest outing, the Tigers were down by nine points at the break. Clemson scored 17 more points from there but also gave up points in every quarter in a 35-24 loss at home. QB Christopher Vizzina finished 29-of-42 for 317 yards and three touchdowns while leading rusher Adam Randal had 10 carries for a tepid 29 yards. TJ Moore had a great day receiving though, topping the team on five grabs for 124 yards and a touchdown in the losing effort.

Clemson vs Duke Prediction

I’ll stay with Clemson, but you could probably call this one either way. The Tigers started pretty slowly in their latest loss at home to a good SMU team, eventually mustering just 35 rush yards and 8-of-19 on third-down conversion attempts. The Clemson defense gave up 429 yards on the other side, including 290 passing yards alongside 21 first downs and 6.0 yards per play. In their previous two games (both wins), the Tigers had outscored opponents by a combined 79-20 score, so the potential for big totals on the scoreboard is there.

As for Duke, they played fairly well against a very good Georgia Tech team in their last matchup. The Devils offense garnered 441 yards total with 373 yards through the air and 26 first downs. Duke gave up 376 yards on the other side though, including 171 rushing yards and 6.6 yards per play. The Blue Devils have given up at least 21 points in five of the last six games.
