The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and the Colorado State Rams meet Saturday in college football action from Canvas Stadium. Here’s a Colorado State vs Hawaii prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Colorado State vs Hawaii pick.

Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Betting Preview

The Rainbow Warriors have had their ups and downs already this year, but they did manage to record victories in four of their first six games. Hawaii started out with a win over New Mexico then beat Sanford by three ahead of a blowout loss on the road versus Arizona. The Warriors would recover with wins over Sam Houston and Portland State before another loss 23-21 versus Fresno State. In the September 27 game versus Air Force, the Rainbow Warriors scored 20 points in the fourth quarter—and gave up 21 in that same frame—during a 44-35 win. Hawaii secured a nice 535 total yards along the way.

Matched up against Utah State last weekend, Hawaii kept their nice season going. After two quarters the Warriors were up 24-20 then used a 17-0 final frame to cap off a 44-26 home win. QB Micah Alejado was 34-of-54 for 413 yards, three scores and a pick while Landon Sims had 10 carries for 82 yards and a score of his own. Tops in receiving was Jackson Harris with seven grabs for 117 yards but Pofele Ashlock had eight catches for 113 yards and three touchdowns.

Colorado State Rams Betting Preview

Over on the Colorado State side, they didn’t have quite as much success over their first half-dozen outings—winning just two of those contests. The Rams lost to Washington in their opener, then took out Northern Colorado in a tight 21-17 win for game two. Game three was a one-point loss versus UTSA, then came a 20-3 loss at the hands of Washington State. In the San Diego State game, the Rams gave up points in every quarter—including 21 in the second alone—during a 45-24 loss. Colorado State’s defense surrendered 540 total yards in that one, with 281 of those coming on the ground.

In their latest outing last Friday versus Fresno State, Colorado State got back into the win column in a big way. The Rams scored 14 points in the first quarter and 21 more in the second on the way to a 49-21 victory. QB Jackson Brousseau went 12-of-18 for 144 yards and three touchdowns, while top rusher Justin Marshall carried seven times for 93 yards and a score of his own. Leading the receivers was Javion Kinnard with three grabs for 72 yards and a touchdown.

Colorado State vs Hawaii Prediction

I’ll lean toward Hawaii here. The Warriors took their sweet time putting the Aggies away last Saturday but eventually got there in a pretty nice performance overall. The offense gained 546 yards with 26 first downs but also struggled on third down conversions on a 5-of-16 clip. The defense came up with two takeaways and held Utah State to just 2-of-12 on third downs on the other side, while the whole team benefited from the Aggies’ 11 penalties. Since their two-point loss to Fresno State on September 20, Hawaii has scored 44 points in consecutive outings. That said, they’ve also given up a combined 61 points in that pair as well.

As for Colorado State, they get credit for a nice win last Friday versus a pretty good Fresno State team. In that one the Rams defense held the Bulldogs to just 4-of-12 on third downs and had four takeaways (three interceptions). The 13 Fresno State penalties certainly didn’t hurt, though. In any case, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Rams stay competitive in this one, but I think it’s Hawaii’s game to control.
