The Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the Duke Blue Devils meet Saturday in college football action from Wallace Wade Stadium. Here’s a Duke vs Wake Forest prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Duke vs Wake Forest pick.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons Betting Preview

The Demon Deacons had a bit of a shaky run going early in the year, but they’ve smoothed things out lately. Wake Forest beat Kennesaw State and Western Carolina in their first two outings before a couple of losses versus NC State and Georgia Tech. The Deacons have hit a 6-1 run since then with two three-game winning streaks around a lone loss to Florida State. Otherwise it’s been victories versus Virginia Tech, Oregon State, SMU, Virginia, North Carolina and Delaware in that stretch, giving the Deacons an 8-3 record through 11 games.

In their Saturday game versus Delaware, the Demon Deacons didn’t have too many issues. Wake Forest scored in every quarter (including double-digits in three of four) on the way to a 52-14 victory in the end. Robby Ashford finished 15-of-22 for 292 yards, three scores and a pick while also rushing in a score. Chris Barnes had a 78-yard rush that put him atop the ball-carriers, and Carlos Hernandez led the receivers on five grabs for 197 yards and two scores.

Duke Blue Devils Betting Preview

Over on the Duke side, they beat Elon in their first game before a couple of losses to Illinois and Tulane. Duke would win three straight versus NC State, Syracuse and Cal before another loss to Georgia Tech and a win over Clemson. The next two were both losses however, as Duke dropped to UConn and Virginia. That would give the Blue Devils a .500 run through the first 10 games of the 2025 season.

Matched up against rival North Carolina last weekend, Duke gave up points in every quarter—but also scored points in every quarter—during a 32-25 win. QB Darian Mensah had a 20-of-33 line for 175 yards and a TD while Nate Sheppard had 22 carries for 90 yards. Anderson Castle had three rush scores and Jeremiah Hasley had seven catches for 85 yards and a TD.

Duke vs Wake Forest Prediction

I’m staying with Wake Forest. The Deacons demolished an overmatched Delaware team last weekend, notching 577 yards, 263 rush yards, 9.6 yards per play, 21 first downs and a 6-of-12 success rate on third downs in the process. The defense gave up 300 yards on the other side with 233 pass yards, 3.9 yards per play, 19 first downs and 8-of-18 on third-down tries alongside a couple of fumble recoveries. Wake Forest had a couple of pretty low-scoring games against tough opponents in October and earlier this month, but they’re putting up the points in their last two. The Deacons have a combined 80 points in that pair.

As for Duke, they managed to put away a pesky UNC team last weekend—thanks in no small part to the Tar Heels’ 12 penalties for 103 yards. The Blue Devils did pretty well on offense with 352 yards and 24 first downs, though. That gives Duke 32 or more points in three of the last four games, so we may have a pretty good total this weekend.
