Nevada Wolf Pack

The Wolf Pack opened up the year with a rough outing against a great USC team. That one didn’t go so well for Nevada in a 66-14 loss. The Wolf Pack took another blowout defeat at the hands of Idaho 33-6 in game two, but got closer to Kansas in a 31-24 loss for game three. Nevada QB Brendon Lewis ran for 58 yards and two scores in the defeat.

In the Texas State matchup, Nevada was up 17-0 at halftime. The Wolf Pack was outscored 35-7 from there however and lost a rough outcome 35-24. Lewis put up 151 yards and a pick, also leading the rush on 89 yards. Tops in receiving was Isaiah Essissima with 67 yards off two grabs.

Fresno State ranked T12th among FBS teams for Q4 win percentage last season (.643).

I’m staying with Fresno State. The Bulldogs have looked great so far this year, and the Kent State matchup was no different. Fresno State posted 513 yards (370 passing), 7.7 yards per play, 29 first downs, 7-of-10 on third-down tries and zero turnovers in a dominant effort Saturday. The Bulldogs have 29 or more points in each of their four games so far and they should be able to handle Nevada at home.

Speaking of Nevada, they had an epic second-half collapse in their last game and it’s going to be a tough turnaround. Even if they play to their capabilities I don’t think the Wolf Pack can keep up with Fresno State.
