In this article we will formulate a Georgia State vs Memphis prediction for this College Football game on Saturday, September 6th at Center Parc Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this week 2 matchup.

Georgia State Panthers Betting Preview

The Georgia State Panthers are 0-1 this year after they lost to Ole Miss by a score of 63-7 in their first game. Georgia State trailed just 7-0 after the first quarter, but it got worse in the second and they trailed 25-7 at the half. The Panthers allowed 17 points in the third quarter and 21 more in the fourth in the blowout loss. Georgia State was out gained by a total of 695-260, went just 2-15 on third down conversions, and won the turnover battle by a total of 2-1. Christian Veilleux went 4-11 for 52 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, while Cameran Brown went 8-14 for 17 yards in the loss. Rashad Amos rushed nine times for 69 yards, while Javon Robinson caught three passes for 52 yards and one score. The GSU defense was led by Jordan Huff, who recorded eight total tackles, while the team had two sacks and six tackles for loss.

Georgia State was able to battle in the first quarter, but the game got away in the second and they were blown out in the second half. The Panthers can’t take much from this game, as Ole Miss was just the way better team, but they will face another dynamic offense here.

Memphis Tigers Betting Preview

The Memphis Tigers are 1-0 this season after they defeated Chattanooga by a score of 45-10 in week one. Memphis led 14-0 after the first quarter and they led 28-3 at the half. The Tigers did have their lead cut to 38-10 in the fourth, but they scored with two minutes left to cover. Memphis out gained Chattanooga by a total of 432-232, went 5-9 on third downs, and won the turnover battle by a total of 2-1. Brendon Lewis went 22-28 for 199 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, while also rushing for 81 yards and one score. Frank Peasant rushed six times for 61 yards and one touchdown, while Cortez Braham Jr caught three passes for 52 yards and one touchdown in the win. The Memphis defense was led by Chris Bracy, who recorded 10 tackles, while the team had two sacks and 10 tackles for loss in the game.

Memphis looked very good to open the season and they controlled the game right from the start. Lewis looked very comfortable at quarterback and we saw him make plays through the air and on the ground. Memphis looks poised for another great season in the American.

Georgia State vs Memphis Prediction

Memphis comes into this game close to a two touchdown favorite, but they will be on the road, which could have an impact. The Tigers looked very strong last week against Chattanooga and their offense should have another big day here. Georgia State was blown out by Ole Miss in their first game and while this game should be more competitive, I don’t see their defense getting many stops. If the Panthers want to stay close in this game, they need to put up 30+ points, which I don’t see happening. Take Memphis to cover on the road.
