The Georgia Bulldogs meet the Charleston Southern Buccaneers on Saturday in week 12 college football action from Sanford Stadium. Charleston Southern just finished up a game versus Gardner-Webb. The Buccaneers ended up posting a 2OT victory by eight points. As for the Bulldogs, they played Tennessee back on Saturday. In that one, Georgia posted a blowout win. Charleston Southern beat the Citadel in their opener this year, but then fell to Monmouth, East Carolina and Robert Morris in the next three. The Buccaneers would go 2-2 over their next four with wins over Hampton and Campbell alongside losses to North Alabama and NC A&T.

On Saturday versus Gardner-Webb, the Buccaneers scored 21 points in the second quarter and hung on for overtime. Charleston Southern eventually emerged victorious 32-24. QB Jack Chambers finished with 286 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Over on the Georgia side, they chugged right along in their first nine games. The Bulldogs took out Clemson, UAB, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky, Florida and Missouri in succession during that span.

Georgia played Tennessee last weekend. The Bulldogs trailed 10-7 after one quarter, but put the clamps down from there in an eventual 41-17 win. QB Stetson Bennett finished with 213 yards and a score, while James Cook added 10 carries for 104 yards and a score.

PICK: I’m going to take Georgia but probably not touching it; the line is nuts. The Bulldogs started a little slow versus Tennessee, but once they got into rhythm the team was fine. Georgia put up 487 yards of offense with 7.0 yards per play and 26 first downs. The 0-2 turnover advantage and 32:59 time of possession were nice as well.

As for Charleston Southern, they get credit for gritting out a win over Gardner-Webb this past weekend. The Buccaneers had 407 total yards and held the ball for a good chunk of the game. That said, I can’t see Charleston Southern keeping up with Georgia for any reasonable amount of time.
