The New Mexico State Aggies and the Liberty Flames meet Saturday in college football action from Williams Stadium. New Mexico State is coming off a matchup versus Missouri last weekend. In that one the Aggies fell in blowout fashion. As for Liberty, they played Virginia Tech in their last game. The Flames would go on to lose by a point. New Mexico State lost their first four games of the year before finally getting a victory over Hawaii on September 24. The Aggies lost to FIU in the next game, then beat New Mexico, UMass and Lamar over the following three.

On Saturday versus Missouri, the Aggies faced a 21-0 deficit after two quarters. New Mexico State ended up with a 45-14 blowout loss. QB Diego Pavia posted 76 yards and an interception while also leading the rush on 50 yards from nine carries.

Over on the Liberty side, they beat Southern Miss, UAB, Akron, Old Dominion, UMass, Gardner-Webb, BYU and Arkansas over their first 10 games this year. The two losses in that span came courtesy of Wake Forest and UConn.

In the Virginia Tech game, Liberty took a 22-17 lead into the fourth quarter. The Flames gave up six from there in a 23-22 defeat. QB Kaidon Salter posted 119 yards, and Shedro Louis led the rush with 64 yards on nine carries.

The Aggies are 21-44-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 8-18-2 ATS in their last 28 on turf. New Mexico State is 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games.

Meanwhile the Flames are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 conference games and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 at home. Liberty is 0-4 ATS versus a team with a losing record.

PICK: I’m leaning toward Liberty but probably staying away. The Flames are coming off a rough loss to Virginia Tech, posting 332 total yards (115 rushing) and 20 first downs. Defensively Liberty did a pretty good job until the fourth quarter, but they also gave up 3-of-3 on fourth-down conversions.

As for New Mexico State, they had a pretty pedestrian offensive outing against Missouri over the weekend, notching 259 total yards and 16 first downs. It’ll probably be easier to find some daylight in this one but I don’t think the Aggies will cover.
