The Jacksonville State Gamecocks are 0-1 this season after they lost to Coastal Carolina by a score of 55-27 in their last game. Jacksonville State tied the game at three in the first quarter, but they were outscored 28-7 and trailed 31-10 going into halftime. The Gamecocks allowed the first 10 points of the second half, which put the game out of reach, but they showed some fight in the fourth quarter. Jacksonville State really struggled defensively in their season opener against Coastal Carolina, and they will have to really clean things up if they want to keep this game competitive. The Cardinals scored 62 points in their first game and with how poorly Jacksonville State looked on defense, they might get close to that number in this game as well. Jacksonville State had a successful 2023 season, but it looks like they have an uphill battle this season. I don’t trust the Gamecocks to get many stops in this game, so I am going to take Louisville to win this game in blowout fashion at home.
