The Arkansas Razorbacks and the LSU Tigers meet Saturday in college football action from Tiger Stadium. Here’s an LSU vs Arkansas prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best LSU vs Arkansas pick.

Arkansas Razorbacks Betting Preview

This year Arkansas kicked off their campaign with a couple of wins over Alabama A&M and Arkansas State. A losing streak began after that however, as the Razorbacks fell versus Ole Miss, Memphis, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Auburn in the next six. In the 33-24 loss to the Tigers, Arkansas held the opposition to just 3-of-12 on third-down conversion attempts but also surrendered 230 rushing yards. The Razorbacks offense added 331 yards, 14 first downs, 3-of-8 on third downs and four turnovers in the defeat on the other side.

In their latest matchup versus Mississippi State at home on November 1, Arkansas’ slide continued. The Razorbacks were up 13-7 at the break but got outscored 17-7 in the final frame during a 38-35 defeat. QB Taylen Green finished 19-of-31 for 194 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for a score. Mike Washington was the leader on the ground with 116 yards and a score of his own on 19 carries, while Raylen Sharpe added five catches for 84 yards in the loss.

LSU Tigers Betting Preview

Over on the LSU side, they opened up their campaign with four straight wins, taking out Clemson, LA Tech, Florida and SE Louisiana in that time. The Tigers would lose three of their next four however, with a lone victory versus South Carolina amid losses to Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M. In the 49-25 loss to the Aggies back on October 25, the Tigers posted a tepid 278 yards on offense with 18 first downs and just 2-of-12 on third-down tries. The defense gave up 426 yards on the other side, including 224 rushing yards in the loss.

Back on Saturday versus Alabama, the Tigers had their hands full. LSU was down 17-3 by the break and could only muster a trio of field goals in a 20-9 loss on the road. Garrett Nussmeier posted an 18-of-21 line for 121 yards in the defeat and Harlem Berry led the rush with 66 yards on 12 totes. Zavion Thomas added five catches for 49 yards as the team’s leading receiver.

LSU vs Arkansas Prediction

I’ll lean toward Arkansas in this one. I’m probably not touching it though, as it’s tough to rally around the Razorbacks for anything these days. In any case, Arkansas played a sloppy, sloppy game in their latest outing, coughing up 18 penalties for 193 yards against Mississippi State. The Razorbacks did well on the ground though, notching 239 of their 433 yards via the rush. Minus the miscues, it wasn’t too bad of a statistical job but it’s tough to win games with that many penalties. Arkansas does have 31 or more points in three of the last four, though.

As for LSU, they played a tough Alabama team on the road this past Saturday and couldn’t find the end zone. The Tigers ended up with 232 total yards, 4.0 yards per play, 13 first downs, 5-of-14 on third-down conversion attempts and two lost fumbles. On defense LSU surrendered 344 total yards and 17 first downs but did pretty well on third-downs (4-of-13) and generally kept Alabama in check during a tricky road matchup. The 10 overall penalties didn’t help, though. LSU has faced ranked teams in each of the last three outings, losing each one. The good news for the Tigers is that they’ll match up a lot better here—not to mention they’ll be playing on friendly ground (unlike two of those three losses).
