Sherrone Moore Out for Michigan

Michigan is going to be without coach Sherrone Moore for the next two games as he is suspended and it will be interesting to see what impact it has on this team. Michigan comes into this game with a 1-1 record and they didn’t look great in the last game. In the first game against New Mexico, Michigan was able to secure the 34-17 victory. In the last game against Oklahoma, Michigan scored only 13 points, and they ended up losing by 11 points. 

Maybe Michigan knows what they are doing, but it feels like they are using Bryce Underwood wrong. Coming out of high school, all the talk about the quarterback was how good he was with his legs, but through two games, they haven’t used that as a weapon. Against Oklahoma, he completed 9 of his 24 passes for 142 yards. He rushed three times for -1 yards. Running back Justice Haynes did have a good game finishing with 19 carries or 125 yards and a touchdown. This would be the perfect game for Michigan to try and start using Underwood a little more towards his strengths.

Central Michigan comes into this game with a 1-1 record, but even in the win, the offense wasn’t good enough. Central Michigan faced off against San Jose State in the first game and they were able to secure the 16-14 victory. In the last game against Pittsburgh, Central Michigan scored 17 points, but the defense gave up 45 points, and that led to the defeat. The Chippewas had three different players who took snaps under center. Joey Labas completed 11 of his 14 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown. Central Michigan also couldn’t get any sort offense going. Angel Flores was the top rusher finishing with nine carries for 18 yards. 

Central Michigan allowed Pitt to put up 464 yards, and they are going to need to improve on that number. The Chippewas’ defense is also going to need to really step up here, and try to take away the running game of Michigan.

Give me Central MIchigan as the underdog. Michigan is going ot keep messing around with Bryce Undedwood and he’s going to decide that he wants to play his college ball somewhere else. This play isn’t so much about how much I trust Central Michigan, but more about I don’t trust Michigan. Michigan’s offense isn’t going to be all that great here, and even though they will win, this is just way too many points. Michigan isn’t scoring more than 28 points.
