The Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Michigan Wolverines meet Saturday in college football action from Michigan Stadium. Here’s a Michigan vs Minnesota prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Michigan vs Minnesota pick.

Minnesota Golden Gophers Betting Preview

In their opener this year, the Gophers took on North Carolina. Minnesota took a tough loss in that one 19-17, but got into the win column 48-0 in a blowout over Rhode Island the next week. Minnesota kept it up with a 27-0 win over Nevada in game three.

Last weekend versus Iowa, the Gophers held a 14-7 lead at the break. Minnesota didn’t score from there however, and lost 31-14. QB Max Brosmer logged 209 yards, two scores and two picks. Tops in receiving was Daniel Jackson with 112 yards on nine grabs.

Michigan Wolverines Betting Preview

Over on the Wolverines’ side, they rolled to a pretty easy win over Fresno State 30-10 in their first game. Michigan hit the Texas buzzsaw in a 31-12 loss September 7, though. Game three was another win, this time 28-18 over Arkansas State.

In the USC game, the Wolverines were outscored 21-13 in the second half but held on for the win 27-24. Michigan got most of their offense from the rush. Leading the charge was Kalel Mullings with 17 carries for 159 yards and two scores.

Michigan vs Minnesota Prediction

I’ll lean toward Michigan. The Wolverines are coming off an impressive victory over USC. In that one Michigan was just about as one-sided offensively as you can get, posting 290 rush yards to just 32 through the air. The Wolverines lost two fumbles, posted just 12 first downs and went a rough 4-of-15 on third-down tries, but a win is a win—especially against a ranked opponent.

As for Minnesota, they gave up 272 rushing yards to Iowa in their latest loss. Offensively the Gophers notched a tepid 288 themselves (209 passing) along with 15 first downs. Michigan should be in control here; expect another run-heavy outing.
