The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Michigan Wolverines meet Saturday in college football action from Michigan Stadium. Here’s a Michigan vs Ohio State prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Michigan vs Ohio State pick.
Ohio State Buckeyes Betting Preview
Ohio State is certainly one of the best teams in the nation this year. The Buckeyes have rolled through 11 straight victories, with only one of them being much of a tight affair (the 14-7 win over Texas in the opener). Following that close win over the Longhorns, Ohio State has since taken out Grambling, Ohio, Washington, Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, Penn State, Purdue, UCLA and Rutgers in succession for a smooth 11-0 record thus far.
Last weekend in the Rutgers game, the Buckeyes scored points in every quarter (with double-digits in the third and fourth) on the way to a 42-9 blowout victory at home. QB Julian Sayin finished 13-of-19 for 157 yards and a pair of scores. Leading the rush was Bo Jackson with 19 carries for 110 yards and two scores, while Max Klare added seven catches for 105 yards and a touchdown as the leading receiver on the team.
Michigan Wolverines Betting Preview
Over on the Michigan side, they’ve done pretty well themselves through 11 games this year. The Wolverines beat New Mexico in their opener then fell to Oklahoma before three more wins over Central Michigan, Nebraska and Wisconsin. After a loss to USC, Michigan took out Washington, Michigan State, Purdue and Northwestern in the next four games. That would give the Wolverines an 8-2 run through their first 10 outings.
In the Saturday matchup with Maryland, Michigan scored double-digit points in three of four quarters (and gave up points in all four quarters) during a 45-20 win on the road. QB Bryce Underwood was 16-of-23 for 215 yards and two touchdowns while Bryson Kuzdal had 20 carries for 100 yards and three scores. Andrew Marsh added five catches for 76 yards and a touchdown as the top receiver.

Michigan vs Ohio State Prediction
I’ll stick with Ohio State. You could certainly make a great case the other way however, with this being a rivalry matchup between two stellar teams and all. The Buckeyes posted another rollicking win last weekend over Rutgers, and the defense was in fine form. Ohio State gave up just 147 total yards with 81 pass yards, 2.7 yards per play, 12 first downs and 5-of-14 on third-down tries in the victory. The offense came up with 430 yards on the other side, 254 rush yards, 7.2 yards per play, 25 first downs and 3-of-6 on third-down conversions. That gives Ohio State 34 or more points in seven straight games—they’re rolling right now.
As for Michigan, they didn’t have a ton of issues versus Maryland last weekend. The Wolverines posted 443 yards, 228 rush yards, 6.1 yards per play, 27 first downs and a stellar 12-of-14 success rate on third-down tries. The defense gave up just 5-of-14 on thirds themselves, along with 347 yards total. Michigan is rolling on a nice five-game win streak, but this will be their toughest challenge of the season. Good thing it’s a home game. I like Ohio State to pull off the double-digit win, but I could easily see Michigan staying close in a plucky effort as well. Should be a great matchup, so don’t miss this one.
