As for game two versus Kansas, the Tigers went into the locker room with a 14-14 tie. Missouri came alive in the second half though, hitting a 24-7 run on the way to a 38-21 victory in the end.
In game three versus Troy, Missouri was down 10-0 by the end of the first quarter, but then woke up with 24 points in the second. The Tigers could only muster a fourth-quarter field goal from there but it was good enough for a 27-17 win in the end. QB Austin Simmons was 10-of-19 for 91 yards and a TD, while Jamal Roberts had 22 carries for 128 yards and a score.
Mississippi State Bulldogs Betting Preview
Over on the Mississippi State side, they matched up against Louisiana-Monroe in their first game of the season. The Bulldogs were up 41-3 by the end of the first half in that one, scoring points in every quarter along the way to a 62-13 win. As for game two versus Minnesota, Mississippi State secured another big win. After going up 28-6 by the break, the Bulldogs ended up winning 38-13 on the road.
Matched up against South Carolina last weekend, the Bulldogs also trailed coming out of the first quarter on a 13-0 deficit. Mississippi State scored double-digit points in each of the following three quarters however, resulting in a comeback road win 41-34. QB Kamario Taylor was 18-of-25 for 251 yards, four scores and an interception. Fluff Bothwell added 21 totes for 115 yards rushing.

Give me the Bulldogs. Mississippi State played a sloppy game versus South Carolina over the weekend, committing 14 of the game’s 23 penalties for 98 yards. The Bulldogs went a tepid 5-of-11 on third downs but otherwise did pretty well on offense with 393 yards and 6.4 yards per play. The Mississippi State defense came up with two picks and held the Gamecocks to just 6-of-18 on third downs.
As for Missouri, they played pretty sloppy (nine penalties for 90 yards) in the Troy win and could only muster 91 pass yards with 13 first downs and 2-of-11 on third downs. The defense bagged a couple of takeaways and played acceptable ball but there’s plenty to improve upon. I don’t think the Tigers will stack up well here.
