Missouri and South Carolina meet Saturday in Week 4 college football action from Faurot Stadium. Here’s a Missouri vs South Carolina prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Missouri Tigers vs South Carolina Gamecocks pick.

What is the Status of LaNorris Sellers for South Carolina?

The big question for South Carolina heading into this game is the status of LaNorris Sellers and at the time of this being published, it’s unclear if he’s going to be in or out for this game. He was knocked out the last loss against Vanderbilt after a hard hit.

South Carolina comes into this game with a 2-1 record overall, and this team can still have everything in front of them, but that has to start with them winning this game. In the first game of the season against Virginia Tech, South Carolin was able to win 24-11. In the second game, it was much of the same, and they were able to knock off South Carolina State. In that game, LaNorris Sellers completed 11 of his 19 passes for 128 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. Even though they found success the running game wasn’t great, and they need a more balanced attack, especially if Sellers isn’t able to go in this game.

South Carolina on the season, is averaging 23 points whil e their defense is giving up 17.33 points per game. The offense is ranked 93rd in college football while the defense is ranked 43rd in college football.

Why South Carolina Will Beat Missouri

  • South Carolina has won four of its last five games against conference opponents.
  • South Carolina has covered the spread in each of its last four games as a road underdog.

Missouri Is For Real

Missouri looks like they are for real, and they feel like a team that can make the college football playoff. If they want to make it though, this is a game that they probably need to win. Missouri currently sits with a 3-0 record. Two weeks ago, against Kansas, they gained 595 yards and were able to knock off the Kansas Jayhawks. In the last game against Louisiana, they didn’t take their foot off the gas, and ended up securing the 52-10 victory. Missouri had 606 yards of total offense, and 427 of them came on the ground. Ahmad Hardy had a huge game rushing for 250 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries. Quarterback Beau Pribula completed 15 of his 22 passes for 174 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

Missouri on the season is averaging 51.67 points while their defense is giving up 15.67 points per game. The offense is ranked 8th while the pitching is ranked 39th. Pribula on the season has thrown for 791 yards, seven touchdowns, and one interception. Ahmard Hardy has been the top rusher, and he has had 57 carries for 462 yards and five touchdowns. In this game, jumping out to a fast start is going to be a major key.

Why Missouri Will Beat South Carolina

  • Missouri has won each of its last 15 games against non-AP-ranked teams at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium.
  • South Carolina has lost each of its last 12 September games as an underdog against AP-ranked teams.
  • Missouri has covered the spread in each of its last eight games.
  • South Carolina has failed to cover the spread in each of its last three games at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium.

Missouri vs South Carolina Prediction

Without knowing the status of Sellers at the time of this being published I am not super interested in the side, but I do have a play I really like on the side. Missouri is averaging 51.67 points per game and even against Kanss they still gained 595 yards. The Tigers offense is the real deal and they are balanced which is going to be a key here. Missouri is going to have no issue running up the score here. Their defense isn’t going to be as strong here though, and South Carolina will also find a way to score at least a couple of touchdowns. That is going to be enough with the offense to help push this game over the total. This game will finish with at least 55 points. Back the over to cash.
