The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the North Carolina State Wolfpack meet Saturday in college football action from Carter-Finley. Here’s an NC State vs Georgia Tech prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best NC State vs Georgia Tech pick.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Betting Preview
Georgia Tech opened up the season on a nice run, bagging wins in each of their first seven outings on the way to a No. 7 national ranking. The Yellow Jackets took out Colorado, Gardner-Webb, Clemson, Temple, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and Duke in those first seven games. Georgia Tech had a bit of a tough time shaking off Duke in their October 18 victory 27-18, but a 17-8 fourth quarter sealed the deal. The Jackets managed 376 total yards in that one alongside 171 rush yards, 6-of-12 on third downs and zero turnovers. The defense held Duke to 5.8 yards per play and 68 rush yards while coming up with a fumble recovery.
In last weekend’s game versus Syracuse, the Jackets started out modestly with a first-quarter field goal. Georgia Tech scored 31 points over the next two quarters though, eventually powering out the big win 41-16 in the end at home. QB Haynes King was good for 304 yards and three scores on 25-of-31 passing and also led the rush with 12 totes for 91 yards and two more scores. Malachi Hosley added eight carries for 81 yards and Jordan Allen had six receptions for 67 yards in the victory effort for the Yellow Jackets.
North Carolina State Wolfpack Betting Preview
Over on the NC State side, they opened the season with three big wins, taking out a tough Virginia team in game two along with victories over East Carolina and Wake Forest. The Wolfpack would fall in the next pair however, losing to Duke and Virginia Tech ahead of a win over Campbell. NC State fell back into the loss column versus Notre Dame 36-7 in game seven back on October 11. The Wolfpack offense generated just 233 total yards, 12 first downs, 5-of-16 on third down tries and 3.9 yards per play in the defeat while coughing up a trio of interceptions along the way.
Matched up against Pitt last weekend, the Wolfpack did a good job putting up points. That said, NC State also gave up points in every quarter (including double-digits in each of the first three) during an eventual road loss 53-34. QB CJ Bailey had a 24-of-40 line for 225 yards and three touchdowns while rushing six times for 39 yards. Daylan Smothers had eight carries for 86 yards and a score of his own, while Justin Holy had six catches for 101 yards and two TDs himself. Teddy Hoffmann added four catches for 55 yards and a touchdown as well.

NC State vs Georgia Tech Prediction
I’ll go with Georgia Tech. It’s hard to pick against the Yellow Jackets right now, and they’re coming off another nice win over a reasonably decent Syracuse squad. Georgia Tech put up 543 yards in that one, including 239 rush yards, alongside 8.0 yards per play, 28 first downs and a very nice 8-of-12 result on third-down conversion attempts. The defense stood tall on third downs themselves with 5-of-14 allowed along with 17 first downs. The Jackets have 24 or more points in every game this year and 27 or more in five straight. I’d imagine that trend will hold in this Saturday’s matchup versus NC State.
Speaking of the Wolfpack, they couldn’t keep pace with a good Pitt team on the scoreboard last weekend, ultimately giving up 529 yards (423 passing) and 29 first downs. NC State has 34 or more points in two of the last three games but will likely have all sorts of trouble with the Yellow Jackets this weekend.
