The NC State Wolfpack meet the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Saturday in week 5 college football action at Carter-Finley Stadium. The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs look for a win to get a game above a .500 record. The NC State Wolfpack look for another win to build on their 3-1 record.
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have lost four of their last five road games. Austin Kendall is completing 61.8 percent of his passes for 837 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions. Tre Harris and Smoke Harris have combined for 420 receiving yards and four touchdowns while Bub Means has nine receptions. The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs ground game is averaging 128 yards per contest, and Marcus Williams Jr. leads the way with 258 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Louisiana Tech is allowing 33.3 points and 485.3 yards per game. Tyler Grubbs leads the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs with 34 tackles, Levi Bell has three sacks and BeeJay Williamson has two interceptions.
The NC State Wolfpack have won six straight home games. Devin Leary is completing 68.9 percent of his passes for 1,032 yards, 10 touchdowns and two interceptions. Emeka Emezie and Devin Carter have combined for 496 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Thayer Thomas has 18 receptions. Defensively, NC State is allowing 13 points and 249.5 yards per game. Drake Thomas leads the NC State Wolfpack with 28 tackles, Davin Vann has 1.5 sacks and Cyrus Fagan has one interception.
The Bulldogs are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Wolfpack are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The over is 6-2 in Bulldogs last 8 games overall. The under is 4-1 in Wolfpack last 5 games overall.
The NC State Wolfpack are obviously the more talented team here, but I am concerned about a letdown spot after they upset Clemson last week. Also, while nothing the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have done this season will knock your socks off, they lost to Missouri State and SMU by a combined three points. LA Tech could easily be undefeated on the season and people would look at them in a different light. This is a lot of points. I’ll take my chances with the Bulldogs.
