The New Mexico Lobos and Wyoming Cowboys do battle Saturday in a week 6 college football game from University Stadium. Wyoming is fresh off a matchup versus San Jose State. In that one the Cowboys took a 17-point loss. As for New Mexico, they played UNLV in their last outing. The Lobos lost that one by 11 points. Wyoming started out their year with a rough loss to Illinois, but the team bounced back with a 40-37 OT win over Tulsa. The Cowboys would then take out Northern Colorado 33-10 and Air Force 17-14 before a 38-24 loss to BYU.

In the matchup versus San Jose State, Wyoming gave up points in every quarter during a 33-16 loss. QB Andrew Peasley put up 85 yards with two scores and a pick, while also leading the rush on 74 yards. Wyatt Wieland added two catches for 44 yards and a touchdown.

Over on the Lobos’ side, they drilled Maine 41-0 in their opener before falling to Boise State 31-14 the next week. New Mexico got back on track with a 27-10 win over UTEP, but then got the unenviable matchup versus LSU in a 38-0 shutout loss.

Back on Friday versus UNLV, New Mexico had a 17-9 lead going into the third quarter. The Lobos could only score three more points in a 31-20 loss. QB Miles Kendrick put up 163 yards with two touchdowns, and Nathaniel Jones added 12 carries for 61 yards.

PICK: I might take a stab on Wyoming here. Probably staying away, though. The Cowboys posted a pretty ugly line of stats in the San Jose State loss, including just 110 pass yards, 4.8 yards per play and 10 first downs. This should be a much better matchup for Wyoming, but they need a good bounce-back outing.
As for New Mexico, they blew an early 14-point lead versus UNLV in their latest loss. The Lobos would muster a tepid 277 total yards with 17 first downs and 2-of-11 on third-down tries. I’m not sure they’ll bounce back sufficiently for this one.

Andrew's Free Pick: Wyoming Cowboys -3
