Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview
Texas A&M didn’t have a ton of issues during their opener this year against UTSA—despite giving up points in every quarter. The Aggies scored in every period themselves (including 14 points in both the second and third) during a 42-24 victory. QB Marcel Reed finished with 22-of-34 passing for 289 yards and four touchdowns while also leading the rush with eight totes for 39 yards. Rueben Owens added 37 yards on his five carries, and Mario Craver led the receivers with eight grabs for 122 yards and a pair of scores. KC Concepcion had three catches for 72 yards and a TD as well.
In game two versus Utah State last weekend, the Aggies were up 30-6 by halftime, eventually scoring in every quarter on the way to 44-22 win. Reed was 19-of-28 for 220 yards and three scores (and a rush TD) in the blowout, while Le’Veon Moss had 10 carries for 68 yards and a score to top the rushers. Craver was again the team’s leading receiver with five grabs for 114 yards and a touchdown. Concepcion contributed six grabs for 73 yards and two more scores.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Betting Preview
Over on the Notre Dame side, they had quite the successful season in 2024 despite a sour ending. The Irish suffered an upset loss versus Northern Illinois along the way, but then won their next 10 games (with three of those over ranked squads). Notre Dame ended up making their third College Football Playoff and took out Indiana 27-17 in the first round at home. In the Sugar Bowl versus Georgia, Notre Dame came out on top 23-10. The Orange Bowl versus Penn State was a tough one, but the Irish were able to eke one out 27-24 to make it to the national championship game versus Ohio State. Notre Dame unfortunately lost that one 34-23 to end the season on a down note. The No. 2 ranked finish was the Irish’s highest since the 1993 campaign.
Notre Dame only has one game in the books so far this season, an opener matchup with Miami. The Irish made things interesting in the fourth quarter with 17 points but couldn’t pull off the comeback in a 27-24 defeat. Quarterback CJ Carr posted 221 yards with two scores and a pick on 19-of-30 passing while also notching a rush touchdown. Jadarian Price had 45 yards on six carries, while Eli Raridon had 97 yards on five receptions for the top spot among receivers. Malachi Fields added three grabs for 48 yards as well.

Notre Dame vs Texas A&M Prediction
I’m going to lean toward Notre Dame. The Irish have had an extra week to get ready for this one—and to rid themselves of the sting from that loss to Miami. Notre Dame had some game-changing mistakes in that one, including two turnovers and a spotty 4-of-9 rate on third-down conversions. The tepid 93 rushing yards didn’t help matters much either. Defensively the Irish did pretty well overall, holding the Hurricanes to 5-of-14 on third downs and 324 yards total (205 passing). That said, they were unable to generate any takeaways. It’ll take a sharper effort here but I think the Irish can pull it off.
As for Texas A&M, last Saturday they had their way with a relatively good Utah State team and didn’t make too many mistakes outside of an interception and a 5-13 rate on third downs. The Aggies’ defense was on fire, and they’ll need every bit of that in this weekend’s matchup. Should be a good one.
