The Ohio Bobcats and Buffalo Bulls clash Tuesday in week 10 MAC college football action from Peden Stadium. Buffalo is 5-3 overall and last played in a win over Toledo. As for Ohio, they’re sitting at 5-3 as well and took out Northern Illinois in their most recent game. Check back all season long for free college football picks at Sport Chat Place.
Buffalo lost their first three games of the year to Maryland, Holy Cross and Coastal Carolina. The Bulls haven’t lost since then, however. They’ve taken out Eastern Michigan, Miami-OH, Bowling Green, UMass and Toledo in their last quintet of outings.
In the Toledo matchup back on October 22, the Bulls were down 20-7 by halftime. Buffalo surged to score 24 points in the final quarter in a 34-27 comeback victory. QB Cole Snyder finished with 245 yards and a score. Ron Cook carried 18 times for 118 yards and a TD.
Over on the Ohio side, they started out the 2022 campaign at 2-2 with wins over Florida Atlantic and Fordham mixed with losses to Penn State and Iowa State. The Bobcats lost to Kent State, then took out Akron, Western Michigan and Northern Illinois.
In the matchup versus the Huskies, Ohio faced a 17-17 tie going into the final quarter. The Bobcats were able to find a touchdown in that last frame in a 24-17 win. QB Kurtis Rourke managed 200 yards with two scores, and Sam Wiglusz caught six balls for 69 yards and the two TDs.
The Bulls are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six games overall and 4-0 ATS in the last four after an ATS win. Buffalo is 4-0-1 ATS in their last five road games.
Meanwhile, the Bobcats are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 4-0 ATS in the last four conference games. Ohio is 20-8 ATS versus a team with a winning record.
PICK: I’m probably going to stick with Buffalo. The Bulls managed a nice comeback versus a pretty good Rockets team in their last outing. Buffalo finished with 398 total yards, 19 first downs and 27:03 in time of possession. The Bulls defense came up with six turnovers as well. Buffalo has hit 24 or more points in each of their last seven games, and should score well here also.
As for Ohio, they had a little trouble getting past Northern Illinois in their last outing, but the Bobcats have posted 24 or more points in each of their last five outings. This one has the potential to be a high-scoring affair, and I think Buffalo takes the cover.
