The Colorado Buffaloes and the Oklahoma State Cowboys meet Saturday in college football action from Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater. Here’s an Oklahoma State vs Colorado prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Oklahoma State vs Colorado pick.
Colorado Buffaloes Betting Preview
The Buffaloes started out the season with a couple of wins, but since then they’ve hit the skids. Colorado beat Georgia Tech and Weber State in their first two outings. Over the last four it’s been losses to Northwestern, Baylor, Texas Tech and Utah in succession, however. In the first six games of the season the Buffaloes have managed to go only 2-4 overall.
In the Utah game last weekend the Buffs gave up a touchdown in the first quarter and a couple of field goals in the second for a 13-0 halftime deficit. Colorado fought their way back into it with two TDs in the third, but ultimately couldn’t hold on in a 27-24 loss. QB Isaac Wilson was 18-of-30 for 256 yards, two scores and two picks. JaQuail Smith rushed 13 times for 73 yards.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Betting Preview
Over on the Oklahoma State side, they have four straight wins bookended by a couple of losses. First came a 24-10 defeat by Tulsa in the opener. After that the Cowboys dispatched Oregon, Murray State, West Virginia and South Florida. In their last outing however, Oklahoma State lost to Houston, giving the team a 4-2 overall record so far this season.
In the Houston matchup last weekend the Cowboys gave up a couple of touchdowns in the first half and went into the locker room with a 14-3 deficit. Oklahoma State scored a couple of times in the third but couldn’t make the comeback in a 35-32 loss. QB Drew Mestemaker was 22-of-34 for 365 yards, one pick and three touchdowns in the winning effort.

Oklahoma State vs Colorado Prediction
I’ll stick with Oklahoma State. The Cowboys need a big statement win here after falling in a close one to Houston. In that defeat Oklahoma State was 3-of-8 on third downs while gathering 25 first downs and 499 total yards. The nine penalties for 71 yards and two turnovers didn’t help their cause any. The good news is that the Cowboys are scoring well; they’ve got 32 or more points in five straight games (a 4-1 run).
As for Colorado, they committed 10 penalties for 93 yards and had a couple of interceptions during their three-point loss to Utah. The Buffaloes defense gave up 409 total yards and 8-of-17 on third downs with 26 first downs allowed. Colorado has scored 14 points or fewer in four of six games so far.
