Oklahoma State vs Iowa State 11/12/22 College Football Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Oklahoma State Cowboys and Iowa State Cyclones clash Saturday in a week 11 Big 12 college football matchup from Boone Pickens Stadium.

The Iowa State Cyclones will be looking to build off of their 31-14 win over West Virginia in their last game. Hunter Dekkers has thrown for 2,370 yards, 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on 67.1% passing while Jirehi Block leads the Cyclones in rushing with 433 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns. Xavier Hutchinson leads the Cyclones in receiving with 87 grabs for 953 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns while Jaylin Neal has 43 grabs for 437 receiving yards and Dimitri Stanley has 332 receiving yards as well on the year. On defense, Iowa State has combined for 14 sacks and 6 interceptions as a unit so far this season.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys will try to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 37-16 loss to Kansas last time out. Spencer Sanders has thrown for 2,177 yards, 15 touchdowns and 5 interceptions on 58% passing but is questionable with an injury for this game while Dominic Richardson has a team-high 502 rushing yards and 8 rushing scores. The aforementioned Sanders also has 343 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns as well. Bryson Green has a team-high 560 receiving yards along with 5 touchdowns while Brennan Presley has a team-high 45 grabs for 521 receiving yards. Braydon Johnson and John Paul Richardson each have 300+ receiving yards as well this season. Two other Cowboys have 200+ receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Mason Cobb has a team-high 72 total tackles including 44 solo tackles while Oklahoma State’s defensive unit has combined for 18 sacks this season, led by Brock Martin’s 4 sacks while Tyler Lacy, Collin Oliver and Ben Kopenski each have 3 sacks apiece.

Iowa State is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following a win and 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 conference games. I get the case to be made either way in this game, but I’m leaning towards the under. If Spencer Sanders doesn’t go again here I have to think it’s going to be especially hard against this Iowa State defense to put points up but I’m also not overly fond of Iowa State offense even against Oklahoma State’s defense. I think this is going to be a slopfest plated mostly between the 20s with little defense being played.
