The Oklahoma State Cowboys meet the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in an in-state rivalry matchup in week 2 college football action from Boone Pickens Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Tulsa Golden hurricane will be looking to rebound from a disappointing and shocking 19-17 loss to FCS foe UC-Davis last time out. Davis Brin threw for 201 yards and a pair of interceptions on 15 of 28 passing while Deneric Prince rushed for 179 yards and a touchdown. Shamari Brooks also had 88 rushing yards while Steven Anderson added another rushing score for Tulsa in the losing effort. Keylon Stokes led the Golden Hurricane with 4 catches for 95 yards while Josh Johnson had 4 grabs of his own for 32 yards. Defensively, Kandarin Ray led the way with 13 total tackles including 5 solo tackles while Jon-Michael Terry had Tulsa’s lone sack and the Golden hurricanes combined for 9 TFLs in the loss.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys will look to build off of their season-opening 23-18 win over Missouri State last time out. Shane Illingworth threw for 315 yards, a touchdown and an interception on 22 of 40 passing while J.D. Brown rushed for a team-high 30 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries and Jaylen Warren had a touchdown on the ground as well. Tay Martin led OK State’s receiving group with 6 grabs for 107 yards and a score while Brennan Presley had 4 catches for 68 yards and Jaden Bray had 57 receiving yards. Defensively, Malcolm Rodriguez led the Cowboys with 15 total tackles including 9 solo tackles while Devin Harper had 1.5 sacks and 2.5 TFLs. Kamryn Farrar had a sack as part of Oklahoma State’s 5 sacks as a team and the Cowboys had 9 TFLs as a team in the win.

Tulsa is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 10-0 ATS in their last 10 road games while the under is 10-0 in their last 10 games played in September. Oklahoma State is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 Saturday games while the under is 12-4 in their last 16 games overall.

In most cases, these in-state rivalry games can be tough and Oklahoma did narrowly get by Missouri State. However, Tulsa just looked awful against UC-Davis and the Golden Hurricane were lucky that the score was as close as it was. The Golden Hurricane will try to make amends, but against Oklahoma State, it’ll be too much in a game that I see the Cowboys winning by at least two scores. Give me Oklahoma State and lay the points.
