The Ole Miss Rebels and Auburn Tigers do battle Saturday in a week 7 SEC college football game from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
The Auburn Tigers will look to rebound from back-to-back losses, regressing to 3-3 on the year after a 42-10 loss to Georgia last time out. Robby Ashford’s thrown for 874 yards, 4 touchdowns and 3 picks on 48% passing. On defense, Owen Pappoe has a team-high 41 total tackles including 23 solo tackles while Derick Hall has 4 of Auburn’s 12 sacks as a unit this season.
The Ole Miss Rebels will hope to remain unbeaten, improving to 6-0 on the year after a 52-28 win over Vanderbilt last time out. Auburn is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games following an ATS loss. Ole Miss is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a win by 20+ points while the under is 7-1 in their last 8 conference games.
I get the case to be made for an underdog in a lot of spots, but this is not one of those spots. Auburn kept it close against LSU, but then regressed to the Auburn we know and against Georgia showed their true colors as this is an Auburn team that’s just not very good with even worse QB play at the top of the depth chart. Ole Miss is a team I had doubts about when the season started as I didn’t love Jaxson Dart running the offense, but he’s proven me wrong and the defense has been a lot better for Ole Miss than I thought it would be. I think this is a beatdown dished out by Ole Miss so I’m laying it and playing it with the Rebels here.
