The Northwestern Wildcats and the Oregon Ducks meet Saturday in college football action from Autzen Stadium in Eugene. Here’s an Oregon vs Northwestern prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Oregon vs Northwestern pick.
Northwestern Wildcats Betting Preview
The Wildcats stormed out of the gate this year with a couple of big wins over South Dakota State and Colorado. Game three was a tough 29-23 loss versus Indiana, but Northwestern has since taken four straight wins. Those have come courtesy of Penn State, Ball State, Michigan State and Rutgers, making for a 6-1 overall run this year.
In the Rutgers matchup last Saturday the Wildcats bagged three touchdowns in the first quarter alone and went into the locker room with a 28-6 advantage. Northwestern kept the heat on from there and walked away with a 42-14 win in the end. QB Aidan Chiles was 19-of-25 for 219 yards, three scores and a pick while rushing for 83 yards and two more scores.
Oregon Ducks Betting Preview
Over on the Oregon side, they managed to win three of their first four games versus Boise State, Portland State and USC (with a loss to Oklahoma State mixed in). The Ducks are 1-2 since then with losses to UCLA and Illinois sandwiched around a win over Nebraska. In seven games thus far the Ducks are sitting at 4-3 overall.
Matched up in a road game versus Illinois last weekend the Ducks were ahead 10-0 late in the second quarter. Oregon would surrender three unanswered touchdowns from there however, and ended up losing 21-10 as the game concluded. QB Dylan Raiola was 27-of-41 for 246 yards and Jordon Davidson carried 14 times for 92 yards and a touchdown.

Oregon vs Northwestern Prediction
I’ll stay with Northwestern. The Wildcats didn’t have too many issues with Rutgers last weekend, racking up 26 first downs, 502 total yards, 283 rush yards and 9-of-13 on third-down tries. Northwestern’s defense came up with three takeaways as well. Over this four-game win streak the Wildcats have posted 34 or more points in three of the outings.
As for Oregon, they gave up just 15 first downs and 89 passing yards in the loss to Illinois. The Ducks fell asleep after the second quarter though and ended up surrendering 225 rush yards. Oregon has been at 17 points or below in three straight games, going 1-2 in that time. I don’t see them lighting up the scoreboard here either.
