The Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Oregon Ducks meet Saturday in college football action from Autzen Stadium. Here’s a Oregon vs Oklahoma State prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Oregon vs Oklahoma State pick.

Oklahoma State Cowboys Betting Preview

Oklahoma State started out the 2024 campaign with high hopes but those aspirations were quickly dashed. Following a nice 3-0 start the Cowboys imploded, eventually resulting in a 3-9 overall record. The 0-9 showing in the Big 12 Conference spelled doom for OK State, obviously leaving the team in the basement of a very tough conference. Oklahoma State had been picked to finish in third place by the preseason media poll but ended up posting their first losing season since 2005. That would end a consecutive bowl streak of 18 seasons and mark the team’s worst outcome since 1991 (winless). No players made the all-conference Big 12 teams either, adding insult to injury.

Turning the page to 2025, Oklahoma State has a victory in the books following their first matchup with Tennessee-Martin last Thursday. The Cowboys jumped out to a 14-7 lead by the end of the first and eventually scored in every quarter during a 27-7 win. Hauss Hejny threw a TD pass among his 5-of-10 for 96 yards (with a rush score), and Zane Flores was 13-of-20 for 136 yards himself. Kalib Hicks topped the rushers with 21 totes for 56 yards, while Terrill Davis had two grabs for 75 yards.

Oregon Ducks Betting Preview

Over on the Ducks’ side, they played pretty darn well during their first season in the Big Ten last year. Oregon started out at 7-0 for the first time since 2013 and eventually carved out a 13-1 run with a stellar 9-0 stretch in a very competitive conference. Oregon bagged a Big Ten championship with a victory over Penn State on December 7. In the CFP Quarterfinal against Ohio State however, Oregon took their first and only loss 41-21 on New Year’s Day. Still, as a minor consolation the Ducks were named the national champions by both Wolfe Ratings and Anderson & Hester.

Matched up against Montana State in their 2025 season opener last weekend, the Ducks would end up cruising to a pretty easy win. By the end of the third quarter Oregon was up 52-6, scoring in every period on the way to a 59-13 blowout victory. QB Dante Moore went 18-of-23 for 213 yards and three touchdowns, while Noah Whittington had 68 yards and a score rushing. Jordon Davidson added three more TDs on the ground, and top receiver Malik Benson hauled in five passes for 51 yards and a score.

Oregon vs Oklahoma State Prediction

I might take a stab on Oklahoma State, but this one seems like a coin flip to me so I’m probably not touching it. The Cowboys did everything they were supposed to do during their opener versus Tennessee-Martin last week, bagging 359 total yards (232 passing), 5.0 yards per play, 20 first downs, a 10-of-18 rate on third-down conversions and no turnovers. On defense, Oklahoma State gave up just 225 yards (109 passing), 4.1 yards per play, 13 first downs and 6-of-15 on third-down tries. It was a pretty solid opening effort, if not a total domination. Playing Oregon is going to be a completely different animal, however.

Speaking of the Ducks, on Saturday they posted an utterly dominant effort against Montana State. Oregon walked off the field with 506 offensive yards (253 in both passing and rushing), 7.9 yards per play, 29 first downs, no turnovers and a nice 7-of-10 result on third downs. The defense held the Bobcats in check quite well, so it’s going to take a big effort from the Cowboys to stay in range here. I think OK State can pull it off, though.
