Pitt vs Florida State Prediction
I’m staying with Pitt. The Panthers got a much-needed win over a struggling Georgia Tech team in their last outing, posting 26 first downs, 461 total yards and 281 rush yards. Pittsburgh wasn’t great on third downs though (6-of-17) and had 10 penalties for 95 yards. The three turnovers didn’t help either, but the defense did more than enough to bag the victory. Pitt allowed just 238 total yards with 3-of-18 on third downs and two fumble recoveries. Another effort like that and Pittsburgh will be in great shape here.
As for FSU, they beat Boston College in their last outing thanks to a nice 8-of-14 on third downs, 22 first downs and 380 total yards. The Seminoles defense gave up 19 first downs, 8-of-14 on third downs and 320 total yards on the other side, but did have two picks. Florida State really needed the victory after three straight losses, giving up 36 or more points in each of those defeats. I could see the Seminoles being competitive here if they play to their capabilities, but I don’t think they’ll quite be able to handle a rested Pittsburgh team in a road matchup.

Florida State Seminoles Betting Preview
The Seminoles have had a pretty rocky run so far this year. Florida State won their first game versus New Mexico State, then fell to SMU and Alabama in the next pair. From there the Seminoles beat Central Arkansas and Virginia, then lost three straight versus Louisville, Miami and Clemson. After another victory over Boston College in their last outing, the Seminoles stand at 4-5 overall on the season.
In their Saturday matchup with Boston College, the Seminoles gave up a couple of touchdowns in the first half but still held the lead at the break 21-17. FSU was down 24-21 at one point in the third quarter but surged back with 10 points in the fourth for a comeback win 31-24. QB Ashton Daniels was 15-of-26 for 178 yards and a pick. Amari Thomas had 19 carries for 98 yards and two scores while Micahi Danzy had seven grabs for 86 yards in the winning effort for the Seminoles.
Pittsburgh Panthers Betting Preview
Over on the Pitt side, they opened up the season on a nice run. The Panthers won their first five games, taking out Miami-OH, UCF, Syracuse, Bucknell and Virginia Tech in succession. A three-game losing streak came next versus North Carolina, Boston College and Miami, but Pittsburgh was able to break the run with a win over Georgia Tech on Halloween. Over nine games so far that gives the Panthers a 6-3 record.
Matched up against Georgia Tech in their most recent appearance, Pittsburgh went into the second half up 17-3 thanks to a couple of second-quarter touchdowns. The Panthers posted a couple more TDs in the final quarter on the way to a nice win 34-11. Quarterback Holden Geriner was 13-of-30 for 180 yards and a score. Damon Ferguson carried 31 times for 185 yards and two scores and Censere Lee had three catches for 56 yards as the leading receiver in the win.
