The Washington Huskies and the Purdue Boilermakers meet Friday in college football action from Ross-Ade in West Lafayette. Here’s a Purdue vs Washington prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Purdue vs Washington pick.

Washington Huskies Betting Preview

The Huskies started out the year on a great run but they’ve had some troubles during Big Ten play so far. Washington opened with a win over Washington State, then eked one out versus Utah State before another win over Eastern Washington. Since then it’s been a trio of three straight losses though, as the Huskies have fallen to Minnesota, USC and Iowa.

In the Iowa game last Friday, the Huskies were already down 13-0 by the end of the first quarter. Washington eventually fell behind 27-0 before finally finding the scoreboard with a field goal. In the end the Huskies would take an ugly home loss 41-24. QB Elijah Brown was 28-of-39 for 251 yards and three scores. Chris Lawson caught eight balls for 86 yards and a TD.

Purdue Boilermakers Betting Preview

Over on the Purdue side, they didn’t have too many troubles with Indiana State in their opener and rolled to a 44-19 win. The Boilermakers would then hit the skids over the next three games however. Those were all losses to Wake Forest, UCLA and Notre Dame. Purdue would finally get back in the win column with a 24-17 road victory over Illinois on October 3.

Last Saturday versus Minnesota, the Boilermakers didn’t have too many issues. Purdue scored 10 points in each of the first two quarters, then added another 21 after the break on the way to a dominant 41-13 victory. QB Ryan Browne was 14-of-24 for 159 yards and a touchdown, while Fame Ijeboi had 31 carries for 195 yards and three scores in the winning effort.

Purdue vs Washington Prediction

I’ll stay with Purdue but you could argue it either way. The Boilermakers rolled right past Minnesota in their last outing on the way to 27 first downs and 464 total yards alongside zero turnovers. On defense Purdue had two takeaways with just 10 first downs and 4-of-13 on third downs allowed. That gives the Boilermakers a combined 65-30 advantage on the scoreboard over the last two games.

As for Washington, they were pretty much cooked at the end of the first half versus Iowa. The Huskies ended up surrendering 22 first downs and 465 yards defensively in that loss. On the other side Washington came up with 24 first downs, 7-of-18 on third downs and negative-3 rushing yards. The good news is that two of the three losses during this current streak were very close games (Minnesota and USC).
