Texas State Bobcats Betting Preview
The Bobcats had a very unenviable draw in their opener versus Texas on the road. Texas State fell easily in that one, dropping 59-7 in the end. Game two was another loss versus UTSA, but this one was a closer 31-26 outcome. The Bobcats earned their first win the next weekend versus North Texas however, taking is 49-35 on their home turf.
Last weekend versus Incarnate Word, the Bobcats didn’t have too many issues. Texas State bagged a whopping 28 points in the first quarter alone, then added 21 more in the fourth quarter during a 63-10 blowout win. QB Brad Jackson was 17-of-20 for 244 yards and five touchdowns. Torrance Burgess led the rush with nine carries for 140 yards and a touchdown.
San Diego State Aztecs Betting Preview
Over on the San Diego State side, they kicked off their year with a home matchup against Portland State. The Aztecs took that one pretty easily 53-20. San Diego State fell in game two versus UCLA 28-10 to even their record back up, then took on James Madison in game three. The Aztecs were down 19-0 by the end of the first half and ended up losing in that one 26-13.
Matched up against Toledo last weekend, the Aztecs were in trouble by the end of the first half, trailing 17-3. San Diego State gave up another 24 points from there in a 41-16 loss in the end. QB Jayden Denegal was 19-of-31 for 206 yards, one TD and one pick. Jacob Bostick caught three balls for 69 yards to lead the team in receiving during the losing effort.

I’ll stick with Texas State but you could argue it the other way as well. The Bobcats beat up on Incarnate Word last weekend to the tune of 658 yards, 338 rush yards, 25 first downs and a nice 10-of-15 on third downs. The defense gave up just 6-of-20 on third downs and had a couple of interceptions on the day. San Diego State however, will make a stiffer opponent.
Speaking of San Diego State, they couldn’t keep any kind of pace with a hot Toledo team, generating only 16 first downs and 3-of-14 on third-down tries alongside two turnovers. On D the Aztecs gave up 494 yards, 210 rush yards and 7.1 yards per play in the loss. It’ll be interesting to see how they stack up against the Bobcats.
