I’m going to try South Alabama in this one. The Jaguars have played a pretty competent season so far, and they’ve come up with some really nice victories. South Alabama posted 647 yards total (360 passing), 8.6 yards per play and 34 first downs in the blowout win over Southern Miss, holding the Golden Eagles to just 149 yards (46 passing), 12 first downs and 1-of-13 on third-down conversions on the other side. The Jaguars have outscored opponents by a lopsided 110-10 across their last two games.
As for Louisiana, they had just the one bad quarter versus a good Georgia State team in their last outing. The Cajuns offense was pretty tepid on 289 yards (124 passing) and 4.3 yards per play, though. It was the first time all season that Louisiana has scored fewer than 24 points. I like a fairly high total in this one as the Cajuns rebound, but I think South Alabama can keep pace.
