The Missouri Tigers and the South Carolina Gamecocks will meet Saturday in college football action from Williams-Brice Stadium. Here’s a South Carolina vs Missouri prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best South Carolina vs Missouri pick.

Missouri Tigers Betting Preview

Missouri started out with four straight wins over Murray State, Buffalo, Boston College, and Vanderbilt this year. The Tigers would go 2-2 over their next four games, beating UMass and Auburn between losses to Texas A&M and Alabama.

Matched up against Oklahoma last weekend, the Tigers posted a 20-14 advantage in the fourth quarter to power out a 30-23 victory. Drew Pyne notched 143 yards with three scores, and Jamal Roberts added 13 carries for 54 yards.

South Carolina Gamecocks Betting Preview

Over on the South Carolina side, they won three of their first four games over Old Dominion, Kentucky, and Akron (with a loss to LSU). The Gamecocks would then lose to Ole Miss, Alabama, and Texas A&M over the next four games.

In the Saturday matchup versus Vanderbilt, the Gamecocks posted a 21-7 second-half advantage in a stunner road upset 28-7. LaNorris Sellers threw for 238 yards and two scores. Raheim Sanders did the heavy lifting on the ground with 15 totes for 126 yards and two touchdowns.

Why the South Carolina Gamecocks will win

  • Missouri has lost the first half in four of its last five games against conference opponents.
  • South Carolina has won the first quarter in seven of its last eight home games against conference opponents.

  • Missouri has covered the spread in each of its last five games against South Carolina.

Total Points Facts

  • Four of South Carolina’s last five games in November have gone UNDER the total points line.

South Carolina vs Missouri Prediction

I’ll go with South Carolina—so long as the Gamecocks can avoid the proverbial “big-win hangover,” that is. In their upset win over Vanderbilt, South Carolina looked great with 452 total yards (214 rushing), 7.2 yards per play, and 25 first downs. The Gamecocks gave up 274 yards on the other side (166 passing) in a nice defensive display. That makes three wins in a row.

As for Missouri, they turned it on late against Oklahoma and pulled out the victory. The Tigers’ defense helped immensely, recovering four fumbles and giving up just 5-of-15 on third-down tries. This weekend should be another close one, and I like South Carolina to power out the cover. It’ll be a fun one to watch regardless.
