TCU vs Kansas State Prediction
I’ll take TCU here. The Frogs are coming off a tough loss versus a good Arizona team, posting 22 first downs, 281 total yards and 6-of-12 on third-down tries in the one-point defeat. TCU gave up 441 total yards on defense with 21 first downs but did pretty well on third-down conversions at 5-of-14. Arizona’s 10 penalties for 111 yards didn’t hurt the cause either. The Frogs have been pretty competitive in their losses this year. None has come by more than eight points. With a couple of breaks late in games TCU would have a very different record right now.
As for Kansas State, they are coming off an absolute shellacking by Oklahoma State in their last outing. The Wildcats gave up 26 first downs, 565 total yards and 4-of-8 on third downs in that one. Offensively Kansas State accounted for just 16 first downs and 8-of-18 on thirds alongside three picks. The Wildcats will match up better here but I think TCU has the edge.

Kansas State Wildcats Betting Preview
The Wildcats got off to a nice start this year but they’ve since struggled in the win column. Kansas State took out Nicholls, Washington State and Tulane in their first trio before a couple of losses to Cincinnati and Houston. After a win over Kansas, the Wildcats have since fallen to Arizona State, Colorado and Oklahoma State in succession. Across the first nine outings of the season that gives Kansas State a rocky 4-5 overall record in the books for their troubles.
In the Oklahoma State game on Saturday the Wildcats gave up a whopping four touchdowns in the first quarter alone. After three more trips to the end zone Oklahoma State and a 49-14 lead at the break. Kansas State posted a couple of cosmetic scores in the second half but ended up losing in the end 66-28. QB Blake Barnett was just 7-of-17 for 106 yards, one TD and two picks. Derrick Salley caught three balls for 100 yards and two touchdowns while Rodney Fields led the rush with 20 totes for 87 yards and a score in the losing effort.
TCU Horned Frogs Betting Preview
Over on the TCU side, they were able to come out of the gate at 2-1 with a loss to North Carolina ahead of wins over Grambling and Arkansas State. The Frogs are 2-4 since then with wins over Baylor and Kansas mixed with losses to UCF, BYU, West Virginia and Arizona in those half-dozen games. Across the first nine outings of their campaign the Frogs are 4-5 on the season as well.
Matched up against Arizona last Friday, the Frogs were down by 10 points after the first quarter then came back for a 14-10 halftime lead. TCU had a 28-20 lead in the fourth quarter but then gave up a couple of unanswered scores for a tough road loss 29-28. QB Jaden Craig was 28-of-41 for 232 yards, one TD and one pick. Amante Martin rushed eight times for 35 yards and Kari Ashley had 14 catches for 95 yards as the team’s leading receiver in the loss.
