The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Texas A&M Aggies meet Saturday in college football action from Kyle Field. The Tide just finished up a matchup versus Mississippi State. In that one Alabama cruised to a blowout win. As for Texas A&M, they played Arkansas in their last matchup. The Aggies would go on to power out a 12-point win. Alabama Crimson Tide 

The Tide stormed right through Middle Tennessee in their opener this year, taking a 56-7 victory. Game two was a tough one versus Texas in a 34-24 loss, but Alabama was able to bounce back the next week with a 17-3 win over South Florida. The Tide kept it going in game four with a 24-10 win over Ole Miss. 

Last weekend versus Mississippi State, the Tide jumped out to an early lead 31-10 at the break. Alabama posted nine more second-half points in a 40-17 blowout victory. QB Jalen Milroe had 164 yards through the air alongside 69 rush yards and a pair of scores. Amari Niblack caught three balls for 61 yards to lead the receivers.

Over on the Aggies’ side, they similarly went 3-1 over their first four games of the year. Texas A&M’s lone loss during that stretch was in game two versus Miami in a 48-33 result. Otherwise the Aggies took out New Mexico 52-10, LA-Monroe 47-3 and Auburn 27-10. Texas A&M QB Max Johnson put up 123 yards with two scores in the win over the Tigers. 

In the Arkansas matchup, the Aggies scored points in every quarter (also allowing points in every quarter) during a 34-22 win. Johnson posted 210 yards with three scores this time, and Le’Veon Moss put up 107 yards on the ground. Ainias Smith caught four balls for a team-high 71 receiving yards.

I might try Texas A&M in this one. We should have a pretty fun matchup here regardless, especially if the Aggies play well. Texas A&M has a few things to clean up from their last game, such as three turnovers (two fumbles) and a handful of penalties. That said, the Aggies still came up with 414 yards of offense (204 rushing), 6.2 yards per play and 19 first downs in a pretty one-sided game. That makes 27 or more points in every game this year for Texas A&M. 

As for Alabama, they continued to chug along in their win over Mississippi State. The Tide have held opponents to 17 points or fewer in three straight games, so it may be hard for the Aggies to find much success offensively. I think the defense can keep Texas A&M in it, though.
