Marcel Reed went 22-34 for 289 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 39 yards in the game. Rueben Owens II rushed five times for 37 yards, while Mario Craver caught eight passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns. The A&M defense was led by Taurean York, who recorded 10 tackles, while the team had one sack and nine tackles for loss. 

Texas A&M looked pretty good on the offensive side of the ball and Reed was able to avoid any turnovers, which is a huge key for them this year. On the other side, the A&M defense did allow 373 yards and 24 points, which has to be a concern. The Aggies have failed to live up to the hype in recent years, but if Reed can continue to protect the football, they could be very good this season.

The Utah State Aggies are 1-0 this year after they defeated UTEP by a score of 28-16 last week. Utah State led 10-7 at the end of the first quarter and they made it 20-10 at halftime. The Aggies did stretch the lead to 28-10 in the third, but failed to score over the last 23 minutes of the game. Utah State out gained UTEP by a total of 362-284, went 2-12 on third down, and won the turnover battle by a total of 1-0. Bryson Barnes went 19-28 for 233 yards and one touchdown in the win, while Miles Davis had 88 rushing yards and 61 receiving yards for one touchdown. The Utah State defense was led by Noah Avinger, who recorded 11 tackles, while the team had two sacks and seven tackles for loss. 

Utah State picked up a solid win to start the season, but UTEP isn’t expected to be very good this year. The Aggies controlled most of the game, but they need to improve on third downs. Utah State’s defense did allow two fourth down conversions, but only allowed 103 rushing yards in the win.

Texas A&M vs Utah State Prediction 

Texas A&M rolls into this contest as a huge favorite to get the win, but they did fail to cover in their week one win. A&M has a dynamic quarterback with Marcel Reed and he should have another big day against an average Utah State defense. Utah State won by double digits against UTEP last week and they also covered by 7.5 points. This Utah State team isn’t bad, but I don’t think they have the offense to compete here, as UTSA at least had a very solid quarterback. Take Texas A&M to pull away in the second half for the cover.
