In this article we will formulate a Texas Tech vs Cincinnati prediction for this College Football game on Saturday, September 28th at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, Texas. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this week five matchup.

Texas Tech Red Raiders Betting Preview

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are 3-1 (1-0) this year after they defeated Arizona State by a score of 30-22 in their last game. Texas Tech led 17-10 at the half and they were able to score 13 of the first 20 points in the second half to pull away for the win. The Red Raiders were out gained by a total of 376-337, won the turnover battle 1-0, and went 8-19 on third down in the game. Behren Morton threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns, while Tahj Brooks rushed for 117 yards on 27 carries.

Texas Tech also has wins over Abilene Christian and North Texas, but they did lose to Washington State by a score of 37-16 on the road. The Texas Tech offense has scored 44 points per game with 319 passing yards and 168.5 rushing yards per game, while the defense has allowed 32.8 points against per game this season. The Red Raiders have gone 49.3% on third down and 3-9 on fourth down through four games. Behren Morton has completed 63.2% of his passes for 1,175 yards, 12 touchdowns, and two interceptions, while Tahj Brooks has rushed for 379 yards and two scores.

Cincinnati Bearcats Betting Preview

The Cincinnati Bearcats are 3-1 (1-0) this season after they defeated Houston by a score of 34-0 in their last game. Cincinnati led 24-0 at halftime and they were able to maintain the shutout in the second half for the blowout win. The Bearcats out gained Houston by a total of 362-233, won the turnover battle 3-0, and went 4-10 on third down in the game. Brendan Sorsby threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns, while Corey Kiner rushed for 78 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries.

Cincinnati also has wins over Towson and Miami (OH) this season, but did lose to Pittsburgh by a score of 28-27 in their second game. The Cincinnati offense has scored 31.5 points per game with 270 passing yards and 197.5 rushing yards per game, while the defense has allowed 16 points against per game this season. The Bearcats have gone 45.1% on third down and 3-3 on fourth down so far this season. Brendan Sorsby has completed 65.3% of his passes for 1,055 yards and eight touchdowns, while Corey Kiner has rushed for 404 yards and two scores.

Texas Tech vs Cincinnati Prediction

Texas Tech started the season with a near loss against Abilene Christian and a double-digit loss to Washington State, but they have bounced back with a blowout win over North Texas and a nice win over a sneaky Arizona State team last week. Cincinnati is also 3-1 to start the season, but they really should be undefeated after they blew a big lead to Pittsburgh at home in their second game. This should be an entertaining game to watch, but I like what I have seen from Texas Tech in their last two games. The Red Raiders should be able to move the ball here, as I don’t really trust the Cincy defense, and I like Texas Tech to pull away in the second half for the cover.
