The Central Florida Knights and the Texas Tech Red Raiders meet Saturday in college football action from Jones AT&T Stadium. Here’s a Texas Tech vs Central Florida prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Texas Tech vs Central Florida pick.

Central Florida Knights Betting Preview

This year the Knights opened with a nice three-game win streak, taking out Jacksonville State, North Carolina A&T and North Carolina in that span. A three-game losing streak came next though, as UCF fell to Kansas State, Kansas and Cincinnati. After that came a win over West Virginia and a loss to Baylor. In the loss to the Bears, the Knights were down 14-0 after the first quarter and never got closer in a 30-3 blowout. Central Florida ended up gaining just 225 total yards with 13 first downs, two picks and a miserable 1-of-11 on third-down conversions.

In their latest outing last Friday versus Houston, the Knights were up 24-17 by the end of the first half. Central Florida was outscored 6-0 in the final frame however, resulting in a 30-27 defeat. Tayven Jackson posted a 15-of-29 line for 136 yards and a pick, while lead rusher Jaden Nixon had 11 totes for 62 yards and a TD. Dylan Wade added six catches for 80 yards as the team’s leading receiver in the losing effort as well.

Texas Tech Red Raiders Betting Preview

Over on the Red Raiders’ side, they kicked off their 2025 run with six straight wins. Those came versus AR-Pine Bluff, Kent State, Oregon State, Utah, Houston and Kansas. Texas Tech would take their first loss of the season on October 18 versus Arizona State, but then bounced back with wins over Oklahoma State and Kansas State in the next pair. In the 43-20 road win over the Wildcats, the Raiders had a couple of turnovers and a tepid 7-of-17 on third downs but also amassed 436 yards and 18 first downs. The defense gave up just 11 first downs on the other side during the victory effort and collected five takeaways.

Matched up against BYU on Saturday, the Raiders jumped out to a 10-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and were looking good on a 19-0 score after three. In the end Texas Tech had a 29-7 home victory against a tough team. Behren Morton threw for 219 yards and a score on 17-of-32 passing, and Cameron Dickey led the rush with 23 carries for 121 yards and a TD. Reggie Virgil added three catches for 54 yards and Coy Eakin had four receptions for 52 yards in the winning effort for the Red Raiders.

Texas Tech vs Central Florida Prediction

I’ll stick with UCF here. I’m probably not touching this one, though. The Knights shot themselves in the proverbial foot late in the loss last Friday versus Houston, eventually posting nine penalties, two picks, 14 first downs and a rough 5-of-15 on third-down tries. All that and the team was still in a position to win, thanks in large part to four takeaways by the defense. Central Florida has fewer than 12 points in two of the last four games, so scoring quickly (and as often as possible) will be key in this matchup.

As for the Raiders, they looked quite impressive on Saturday versus BYU. The Texas Tech defense held the opposition to just 255 total yards with 14 first downs, 3-of-14 on third-down tries and 3.9 yards per play with three takeaways. The offense gained 368 yards on the other side and took care of the ball with no turnovers. Texas Tech has won three straight, scoring 29 or more in each game. They’ll be a tough customer on Saturday.
