The Texas A&M Aggies and the Texas Longhorns meet Friday in college football action from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Here’s a Texas vs Texas A&M prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Texas vs Texas A&M pick.

Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview

The Aggies are one of the top teams in the nation, and they’ve showcased it on the field all season long. Sure, there have been a few close finishes, but Texas A&M so far has remained unscathed in the record column. The Aggies have taken out UTSA, Utah State, Notre Dame, Auburn, Mississippi State, Florida, Arkansas, LSU, Missouri, South Carolina and Samford in succession over their first 11 games of the season.

Back on Saturday versus Samford in their latest matchup, Texas A&M didn’t have too much trouble. The Aggies were up 21-0 by the end of the first half and scored in every quarter (including double-digits in three of four) on the way to a 48-0 blowout shutout victory. QB Marcel Reed was 10-of-15 for 120 yards and three scores. Leading rusher Amari Daniels carried nine times for 106 yards and a touchdown, while Ashton Bethel-Roman led the receivers on two catches for 61 yards and a pair of scores.

Texas Longhorns Betting Preview

Over on the Texas side, they’re not doing so bad themselves this season. The Longhorns opened up the year with a tough 14-7 loss to Ohio State but then beat San Jose State, UTEP and Sam Houston in the next three. Texas would then lose to Florida before taking out Oklahoma, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt. Next came a loss to Georgia in blowout fashion on November 15 however, dropping the Longhorns to 7-3 on the year through 10 games.

Last weekend versus Arkansas, the Longhorns gave up points in every quarter—including double-digits in two of them. That said, Texas also scored points in every quarter—including double-digits in three of them. The result was a 52-37 win in the end. QB Arch Manning logged an 18-of-30 line for 389 yards and four scores. Quintrevion Wisner rushed 15 times for 67 yards and Parker Livingstone added two catches for 104 yards and a TD.

Texas vs Texas A&M Prediction

I’ll lean toward Texas A&M. You could probably call this one either way, however; it’ll be a fun matchup. The Aggies demolished an overmatched Samford team in their last outing, notching 475 yards, 247 rush yards, 5.9 yards per play, 22 first downs and 7-of-15 on third-down tries. The defense gave up just 77 yards on the other side with 1.6 yards per play, three first downs and a futile 0-of-15 on third downs. The beatdown resulted in 12 Bulldogs punts. Outside of the two turnovers by the Aggies, it was a pretty perfect game. That makes 31 or more points in seven straight outings for Texas A&M.

As for the Longhorns, they gave up a ton of production to a struggling Arkansas team last weekend but made up for it on offense. Texas surrendered 512 total yards, 6.4 yards per play and 29 first downs in the victory but also got a couple of takeaways. The Razorbacks’ nine penalties helped as well. Texas has 34 or more points in three of the last four games but they do struggle against good defenses sometimes.
