The Army Black Knights and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane meet Friday in college football action from Chapman Stadium in Tulsa. Here’s a Tulsa vs Army prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Tulsa vs Army pick.
Army Black Knights Betting Preview
The Knights started out the year on a .500 run but they’ve won a couple of consecutive games since then. Army went 2-2 in their first four with wins over Bryant and Temple mixed with losses to South Florida and LA Tech. Over the last two games the Knights have taken out Tulane and Florida Atlantic though, giving the team a 4-2 overall record through six games.
In the Florida Atlantic matchup last Saturday the Knights came out of the first quarter with a 14-14 tie then rattled off three unanswered TDs in the second. Army got into the end zone a few more times from there and won the game 56-24 in the end. QB Cale Hellums led the rushing attack with 25 carries for 195 yards and five touchdowns in the victory effort.
Tulsa Golden Hurricane Betting Preview
Over on the Tulsa side, they got off to a nice start this year but they’ve leveled off lately. The Hurricane took out Oklahoma State, Sam Houston and East Texas A&M over their first trio, then lost to Arkansas, North Texas and Navy in the next three outings. After a win over Rice last weekend the Golden Hurricane are sitting at 4-3 overall on the season.
Matched up against Rice on Saturday the Hurricane were down 10-0 early but managed to fight their way back for a 21-17 halftime lead. Tulsa scored three more times in the second half on the way to a 38-17 win. QB Baylor Hayes was 20-of-27 for 249 yards and three touchdowns. Trequan Jones carried 12 times for 77 yards and a touchdown of his own.

Tulsa vs Army Prediction
I’ll stick with Army. The Knights know exactly who they are, and they’ve been doing it pretty well overall. Army bagged a whopping 479 rush yards against exactly two pass yards (on just two attempts) in their latest win over FAU. The Knights got 22 first downs and 4-4 on fourth-down tries for their troubles. The defense gave up 28 first downs and 10-of-14 on third downs but did have three takeaways. Army has scored 20 or more points in every game so far this year.
As for Tulsa, they beat up on a struggling Rice team in their last outing. The Hurricane gave up just 4-of-11 on third-down tries alongside 351 total yards defensively. Tulsa managed 22 first downs and 401 total yards on the other side. Regardless, it was nice to snap the three-game losing streak. This will be a tricky one, though.
