The Georgia State Panthers and the Central Florida Knights meet Saturday in college football action from FBC Mortgage Stadium. Here’s a UCF vs Georgia State prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best UCF vs Georgia State pick.
Georgia State Panthers Betting Preview
The Panthers got a win in their first game of the year versus NC A&T. Georgia State scored 21 points in the second quarter and 24 in the third on the way to a 59-10 blowout result. QB Cameran Brown was 15-of-20 for 190 yards and two touchdowns. Tops in rushing was Lanear McCrary with nine totes for 75 yards and a TD, while DJ Murray had two catches for 50 yards and a score.
In game two versus Kennesaw State, the Panthers were in firm control by halftime, going into the locker room with a 21-3 edge. Georgia State ended up carding points in every quarter along the way to a 31-17 victory on the road. Brown was 16-of-23 for 253 yards and an interception this time but did score a TD on the ground. McCrary had 101 yards and a score of his own on 19 totes.
Central Florida Knights Betting Preview
Over on the Knights’ side, they also had a blowout win in their opener versus Bethune-Cookman. UCF posted points in every quarter (double-digits in three of them) on the way to a 73-6 finish. QB Alonza Barnett had an 11-of-18 line for 158 yards, one TD and one pick while also notching a rush TD. Duke Watson was the lead runner on seven carries for 110 yards and a score.
Matched up against Pitt in game two, the Knights were down 12-0 going into the fourth quarter. Central Florida managed to find the end zone from there (and held the Panthers scoreless in the second half) but it wasn’t enough in a tough road loss 12-7. Barnett was 20-of-31 for 186 yards with a score while also leading the team in rushing with just 13 yards on 13 carries.

UCF vs Georgia State Prediction
I’ll stay with Georgia State. The Panthers notched a pretty solid win over Kennesaw State last weekend thanks to a nice all-around offensive effort. Georgia State had 483 total yards (230 rushing), 6.9 yards per play, 23 first downs and 6-of-13 on third-down tries. The defense gave up just 2-of-9 on third downs themselves. There were a couple of hiccups though, namely the two turnovers and nine penalties for 65 yards.
As for the Knights, they were able to make things interesting in the fourth quarter of their loss to Pitt but really couldn’t get much going for the vast majority of the game. The defense played well overall with just 15 first downs and 5-of-18 on third downs allowed, but couldn’t get off the field (Pitt had 36:12 in time of possession). The offense posted just nine first downs and 4-of-13 on third downs themselves, and the nine penalties didn’t help. Being at home this weekend should be a boost, though.
