The Kansas Jayhawks and the Central Florida Knights meet Saturday in college football action from FBC Mortgage Stadium. Here’s a Central Florida vs Kansas prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Central Florida vs Kansas pick.
Kansas Jayhawks Betting Preview
Kansas has five games in the books so far this year, posting a winning record along the way. The first pair of outings were both victories as the Jayhawks dispatched Fresno State 31-7 in the opener and Wagner 46-7 in game two. On September 6 versus Missouri, Kansas took their first loss of the year 42-31 on the road. Game four was another win however, as the Jayhawks dispatched West Virginia 41-10 in a home matchup. Kansas posted points in every quarter in that victory, racking up 242 rushing yards and 388 total yards along the way.
In their matchup versus Cincinnati last weekend, Kansas traded punches in a highly competitive game but eventually fell just short 37-34 after giving up points in every quarter (and scoring points in every quarter themselves). The Jayhawks’ Jalon Daniels finished 19-of-28 for 445 yards and four scores. Leshon Williams carried 10 times for 64 yards to top the receivers and Emmanuel Henderson had a great outing with five catches for 214 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Boden Groen added five catches of his own for 91 yards and another score.
Central Florida Knights Betting Preview
Over on the Knights’ side, they’ve only got four games completed thus far in the season. Central Florida managed to power out a tight 17-10 win over Jacksonville State in their opener, then took out their frustrations on an overmatched NC A&T squad in a 68-7 blowout victory for game two. The Knights bagged another big victory a couple of weeks later, blowing past North Carolina 34-9 thanks to a 20-3 halftime edge. UCF had a good defensive outing there, holding the Tar Heels to 217 total yards (154 passing), 3.7 yards per play, 14 first downs and a 5-of-13 success rate on third downs alongside a couple of interceptions.
Matched up against Kansas State on Saturday the Knights came out of the break facing a 10-point deficit and couldn’t bridge the gap in an eventual loss 34-20. QB Tayven Jackson logged a 12-of-24 line for 115 yards and an interception, while Myles Montgomery rushed 10 times for 119 yards. DJ Black had one 82-yard touchdown catch that put him atop the receivers, and Duane Thomas added four grabs for 55 yards in the defeat.

Central Florida vs Kansas Prediction
I’ll stay with Kansas, but you could make a case either way. Both teams need a good showing here. The Jayhawks had a nice offensive outing in their loss to Cincinnati, racking up 597 yards (445 passing), 10.9 yards per play and 23 first downs. The 3-of-8 success rate on third downs wasn’t great though, and the defense got pretty beat up. Kansas surrendered 603 total yards (388 passing), 7.4 yards per play, 28 first downs and 7-of-15 on third-down tries to the Bearcats. The Jayhawks have given up a combined 79 points in their two losses so far this season.
As for Central Florida, they couldn’t get much going in the loss to Kansas State, especially considering the three turnovers. The Knights generated 402 yards of offense (205 rushing) and 6.8 yards per play but turned that into just 13 first downs and a 3-of-13 success rate on third-down conversions. The defense had trouble stopping the run, giving up 266 yards on the ground out of Kansas State’s 434 total. Central Florida has 34 or more points in two of four games and 20 or fewer in each of the other two outings. If the offense can get moving quickly here I could see them keeping a cover pace but I like Kansas a little better.
