The UCLA Bruins are 3-7 (3-4) this season after they lost to Ohio State by a score of 48-10 in their last game. UCLA trailed 27-0 at halftime and they never had a chance to win, but did score 10 points in the second half to avoid the shutout. Why the Washington Huskies will win

  • Washington has won each of its last seven games against teams from California.
  • UCLA has lost four of its last five games in November.
  • UCLA has failed to cover the spread in each of its last six home games against non-AP-ranked teams.
  • Washington has covered the spread in each of its last four games against teams from California.
  • UCLA has lost the first half in each of its last three games against conference opponents.

Total Points Facts

  • Seven of Washington’s last eight games as a favorite against teams from California have gone OVER the total points line.
  • Seven of UCLA’s last eight November home games against non-AP-ranked teams have gone UNDER the total points line.

Matchup/League Facts

  • UCLA ranks 4th among FBS teams for red zone percentage this season (96.4).
  • UCLA ranks T132nd among FBS teams for Q1 points per game this season (2.0).
  • Washington ranks T3rd among FBS teams for average point differential in fourth quarters this season (+6.3).

UCLA vs Washington Prediction

UCLA comes into this matchup on a three game losing streak and they have allowed 48, 28, and 56 points during that span. The Bruins have really struggled on offense over their last four games and might be without their starting quarterback here. Washington has had plenty of issues on the road, as they have lost to Michigan and Wisconsin in their last two road games + nearly lost to a bad Maryland team before that. The Huskies have a very solid quarterback, but they have scored just 17 points in their last two games away from home. I know all of that creates some doubt with Washington here, but I can’t back UCLA with the possibility of a backup quarterback. Take Washington on the road.
