The Utah State Aggies and the UNLV Rebels meet Saturday in college football action from Allegiant Stadium. Here’s a UNLV vs Utah State prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best UNLV vs Utah State pick.
Utah State Aggies Betting Preview
The Aggies managed to win three of their first four games this year, with a lone loss to Texas A&M among victories over UTEP, Air Force and McNeese State. Utah State would lose to Vanderbilt and Hawaii in the next pair, then beat San Jose State ahead of a loss to New Mexico. In the 33-14 defeat at the hands of the Lobos, the Aggies gained 306 yards with a tepid 164 pass yards, 6.5 yards per play, 15 first downs and 4-of-10 on third-down conversion attempts. The defense gave up 224 rush yards with 21 first downs on the other side.
Matched up against Nevada last weekend, Utah State didn’t have much trouble at all. The Aggies were up 24-0 by the end of the first quarter and cruised to the win 51-14 by scoring in every frame along the way. Bryson Barnes had a 20-of-27 line for 288 yards and three touchdowns while also leading the rush on 40 yards off nine totes. Tops in receiving was Brady Boyd with five catches for 117 yards and two touchdowns in the winning effort for the Aggies.
UNLV Rebels Betting Preview
Over on the Rebels’ side, they kicked off the year with six straight wins. Those came courtesy of Idaho State, Sam Houston, UCLA, Miami-OH, Wyoming and Air Force. UNLV would lose the next pair versus Boise State and New Mexico however. In the 40-35 loss to the Lobos at home on November 1, the Rebels gave up 532 yards total, 401 pass yards, 9.7 yards per play and 16 first downs but held strong on 3-of-11 in third-down conversions. The three lost fumbles no offense and 4-of-13 success rate on third downs didn’t help, though.
In their latest outing last weekend versus Colorado State, UNLV fell behind quickly but rallied in the second quarter for three scores and a 21-10 halftime lead. The Rebels hit a 21-0 run from there and won handily 42-10. Anthony Colandrea was 15-of-22 for 251 yards, two scores and a pick in the victory, while also rushing in a pair of scores. Jai’Den Thomas was the top rusher in the win with 131 yards and a TD on seven carries, while Troy Omeire’s 68-yard TD catch put him atop the receivers. Jaden Bradley added three catches for 64 yards as well.

UNLV vs Utah State Prediction
I’ll stick with Utah State. The Aggies put on a clinic versus a struggling Nevada team in a big home win over the weekend. Utah State had 522 total yards in that one with 7.0 yards per play, 23 first downs and no turnovers. The defense allowed just 242 yards on the other side with 4.2 yards per play and 11 first downs alongside three takeaways. The nine penalties for 75 yards were just about the only thing to complain about in the blowout home victory. It was a nice bounce-back effort following a blowout road loss to New Mexico on October 25.
As for UNLV, they demolished Colorado State in their last game, notching 571 yards, 320 rush yards, 8.8 yards per play and 23 first downs on offense. The D gave up 292 yards on the other side with just 16 first downs and 1-of-13 on third-down tries. UNLV is scoring great this year with 30 or more points in every game, so Utah State is going to have to push the issue on offense in this matchup.
