Colorado Buffaloes Betting Preview
Colorado has been a mixed bag this year, with a few good performances mixed in with some losses of varying degrees. The Buffaloes were competitive with Georgia Tech in their opener, losing by just seven points. Game two was a 31-7 victory over Delaware, then came a 36-20 loss to Houston. Colorado was able to even things back up with a 17-point win over Wyoming, then came a three-point loss to BYU and a 35-21 defeat on the road at the hands of TCU. In the loss to the Frogs, the Buffs offense generated 343 yards with 20 first downs and a 9-of-14 success rate on third downs. The real killer however, were the four turnovers (three interceptions). Defensively Colorado gave up 369 yards, with 275 of those coming through the air in the 14-point defeat.
In their last matchup versus Iowa State back on October 11, the Buffaloes nursed a 21-17 lead by the end of the third quarter. Colorado was able to add an insurance field goal in the final frame for a 24-17 win in the end. QB Kaidon Salter finished 16-of-25 for 255 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 57 yards on nine totes. Dallan Hayden led the rush with 12 carries for 58 yards, and Joseph Williams had a great day on eight catches, 128 yards and a touchdown to lead the receivers in the victory effort.
Utah Utes Betting Preview
Over on the Utes’ side, they kicked off the season with a trio of blowout victories versus overmatched competition. Utah took out UCLA, Cal Poly and Wyoming in that time before falling to a great Texas Tech team 34-10 at home. The Utes were able to recover in the next pair though, taking sizable wins over West Virginia and Arizona State. In the win over the Sun Devils, Utah scored points in every quarter—including 14 in both the second and third frames. The Utes offense ended up with 412 total yards, with 276 of those coming on the ground.
Last weekend versus BYU, the Utes were down 10-7 by the start of the fourth quarter. Utah posted two touchdowns from there but also allowed a pair of scores in a tough road loss 24-21. QB Devon Dampier went 20-of-36 for 244 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Leading rusher Daniel Bray finished with 10 carries for 121 yards and a TD, while Ryan Davis added seven receptions for 66 yards and a score as the leading receiver in the defeat.

Utah vs Colorado Prediction
I’m going to take a stab on Colorado here. If all goes well for the Buffaloes, they should be competitive cover-wise in this one. That said, things could also get out of hand quickly. Colorado has had some extra time to rest and prep following their latest win over a pretty good Iowa State team on October 11. Colorado gave up a ton of yardage in that one: 441 total with 236 of those being rush yards. The Buffaloes were strong on third downs though, holding the Cyclones to just 2-of-12 on conversions. Trouble is, Colorado hasn’t scored more than 24 points in three straight games; they’ll need a big defensive stand on Saturday.
As for Utah, they gave BYU a good game on the road last weekend but also made too many mistakes—namely the two turnovers and the 12 penalties for 77 yards. The rushing game (226 yards) was working though. This weekend’s matchup should be more favorable, and in a comfortable home game I like the Utes to shine.
