UTEP vs Hawaii Prediction
I’ll lean toward Hawaii but there’s not a whole lot to get excited about here. The Warriors beat up on a struggling Northern Illinois team in their last outing, notching 24 first downs and 504 yards along the way. Hawaii was pretty good on third downs (9-of-15) and the defense gave up just 1-of-7 on the other side. The Warriors defense came up with five takeaways in a pretty nice performance overall. Hawaii had scored fewer than 17 points in four straight games prior to that though, so they’ll likely come back to earth on some level here.
As for UTEP, they put up another dud in the loss to North Dakota State last weekend. The Miners had three turnovers with just nine first downs and a 5-of-13 success rate on third-down conversions. Defensively UTEP surrendered 381 total yards and 19 first downs. The Miners have been in a scoring slump since hanging 51 points on Texas Southern back on September 12. They’ve been at 17 points or below in six straight games, losing them all. I’m not optimistic about their chances at matching up against very many teams these days.

Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Betting Preview
The Rainbow Warriors haven’t had a whole lot of success when it comes to finding wins this year. Hawaii kicked off with consecutive losses to Stanford and UNLV, but then got a victory over New Mexico State. After that came a four-game losing streak as the Warriors fell versus Wyoming, San Jose State, Arizona State and Western Illinois. Following a win over Northern Illinois, the Rainbow Warriors are 2-6 on the season through eight games so far.
In the NIU matchup back on October 24, the Warriors rattled off three unanswered touchdowns in the second quarter and went to the locker room sporting a comfortable 35-14 lead. Hawaii was able to keep it going in the second half and eventually kept the Huskies winless with a 56-21 victory. QB Micah Alejado was 22-of-32 for 323 yards, three scores and a pick. DeVon Rice led the rushing attack with 12 carries for 71 yards and three scores, while Audric Harris caught two balls for 90 yards.
UTEP Miners Betting Preview
Over on the UTEP side, they haven’t been having a great season either. The Miners took a loss to Oklahoma in their opener but then got a victory over Texas Southern 51-10 in game two. UTEP followed that up with a big loss at Michigan, then fell to Oregon State, New Mexico, Nevada and San Jose State over the next four games. In their first seven outings of the season, UTEP could only manage a 1-6 record.
Matched up against North Dakota State last weekend the Miners scored an early touchdown but they weren’t on top for long. UTEP went into the break with a 10-7 deficit. After halftime the Miners gave up three more touchdowns and limped to a 31-7 loss in the end. QB EJ Colson was 11-of-16 for 59 yards and two picks. Raymond Moore carried three times for 67 yards and the lone TD while Jaden Smith caught six balls for 41 yards in the losing effort.
