The UTSA Roadrunners and Louisiana Tech Bulldogs clash Saturday in a week 11 C-USA college football matchup from the Alamodome.

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs come into this game looking to build on a 40-24 win over Middle Tennessee to improve to 3-6 on the year. Parker McNeil’s thrown for 1,906 yards, 18 touchdowns and 8 interceptions on 57.5% passing while Marquis Crosby has 694 rushing yards and 5 scores. Tre Harris leads LA Tech with 49 grabs for 803 yards and 9 touchdowns while Smoke Harris has 48 catches for 493 yards with 4 scores and Griffin Hebert and Cyrus Allen each have 406 receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Hugh Davis has a team-high 55 total tackles while Jaiden Cole has 3.5 sacks. LA Tech’s defensive unit has combined for 12 sacks and 10 interceptions this season.

The UTSA Roadrunners will try to improve on their 7-2 record after a 6th straight win in a 44-38 OT win over UAB last time out. Frank Harris has thrown for 2,823 yards, 21 touchdowns and 6 interceptions on 69.1% passing while also posting 354 rushing yards as well as 5 TDs this season. Brenden Brady leads UTSA with 570 rushing yards and 7 TDs while Kevorian Barnes has 316 rushing yards as well on the year. Zakhari Franklin leads UTSA’s receiving group with 62 grabs for 768 yards and 9 scores while Joshua Cephus has 742 receiving yards with 4 TDs and De’Corian Clark has 741 receiving yards and 8 TDs as well this season. On defense, Jamal Ligon has a team-high 58 total tackles while Trey Moore has a team-high 5 sacks this season. Corey Mayfield Jr. also has 3 interceptions as well this season.

Louisiana Tech is 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 road games and 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games following an ATS win while the over is 10-1 in their last 11 conference games. UTSA is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games in November.

I get the reasoning for UTSA being favored at home as they’re still pushing to lock up a spot in the C-USA title game, while Louisiana Tech is trying to hold onto any hope of bowl eligibility. That being said, I still lean towards Louisiana Tech and the points, mainly because the Bulldogs have been doing a good job in recent games of matching scores with their opposition and UTSA, while having an electric offense, has had moments where they’ve given up points in bunches defensively and kept games a lot close than expected or needed to be. I could easily see a 45-31 or 45-28 kind of game here, so give me the Bulldogs and the points here.
