The UTSA Roadrunners meet the UNLV Rebels Saturday in week 5 2021 college football action from the Alamodome in San Antonio . UNLV is coming off a matchup versus Fresno State last week. In that one the Rebels took a tough eight-point loss. As for the Roadrunners, they played Memphis last Saturday. UTSA ended up eking out a three-point victory. UNLV played tough against Eastern Washington in their opener, but ultimately fell in a difficult 35-33 overtime defeat. The Rebels stumbled in their next pair of games, falling 37-10 to Arizona State, then 48-3 to Iowa State in week three to continue the winless campaign.

Last Friday versus Fresno State, UNLV had a 14-9 lead at halftime but gave up 29 points from there in a 38-30 defeat. QB Doug Brumfield finished 6-of-13 with 143 yards and two scores, and Charles Williams led the rushers with 102 yards and a TD off 19 carries.

Over on the UTSA side, they matched up against Illinois in their opener, finding success with a nice 37-30 victory. The Roadrunners kept it going in week two with a 54-0 blowout over Lamar and then a 27-13 win over Middle Tennessee in the next game.

UTSA is coming off a game versus Memphis. In that one, the Roadrunners kept their win streak alive with a 31-28 victory. QB Frank Harris finished on 186 yards and a TD, while Sincere McCormick rumbled for 184 yards and three TDs off 42 carries.

The Rebels are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. UNLV is 3-1-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record as well.

Meanwhile, the Roadrunners are 6-0 ATS in their last six overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four on grass. UTSA is also 6-0 ATS in their last six at home.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on UNLV. The Rebels had a decent first half against a good Fresno State team in their last outing, finishing with 433 total yards and 6.8 yards per play alongside just five penalties and one turnover. UNLV ultimately couldn’t hold off the Bulldogs but it was still a solid effort from a winless team.

As for UTSA, it was the Sincere McCormick show in their last game; he put up the vast majority of the 205 rush yards and was a reliable option late. UNLV is going to have to put a major focus on stopping that part of the Roadrunners attack if they intend to stay competitive here.
