The Oregon State Beavers and the Washington State Cougars meet Saturday in college football action from Martin Stadium. This will be Oregon State’s fourth outing of the year; they’re coming off a game versus San Diego State. The Beavers would go on to win by 17 points. As for Washington State, they played Northern Colorado over the weekend. In that one the Cougars rolled to a blowout victory. Oregon State Beavers

The Beavers didn’t have a whole lot of issues in their first two games of the year. The opener was a matchup versus San Jose State and an eventual 42-17 blowout victory. In game two Oregon State took on UC Davis and dominated even further in a 55-7 win. The Beavers put up 450 total yards (269 rushing) and zero turnovers in that one.

On Saturday versus San Diego State, Oregon State managed to score points in every quarter during a 26-9 victory. DJ Uiagalelei went 14-of-30 for 284 yards, one TD and two picks. Anthony Gould had 97 yards off three catches to pace the receivers and Damien Martinez had 102 yards off 15 carries.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll stick with Oregon State in this one. We should have a really fun matchup here though, so you could make a case either way. The Beavers stormed out of the gate in their first two games this year, outscoring the competition by a combined 97-24 score. Needless to say, the offense can generate a ton of production under the right circumstances. In the San Diego State game, the Beavers posted 475 total yards (191 rushing) with 7.7 yards per play and 20 first downs. Still, Oregon State had a couple of interceptions and went just 4-of-11 on third downs so it wasn’t a perfect effort. I like the Beavers to match up well against Washington State, though. Should be a great game to watch.
