Week 2: Oklahoma State vs Arizona State 9/10/22 College Football Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Oklahoma State Cowboys and Arizona State Sun Devils square off Saturday in a week 2 college football contest from Boone Pickens Stadium.

The Arizona State Sun Devils will look to build on their 40-3 win over Northern Arizona to start the year. Emory Jones has thrown for 152 yards on 72.2% passing while Xazavian Valladay has rushed for a team-high 116 yards and 2 touchdowns. Daniyel Ngata has 60 rushing yards while the aforementioned Jones has a pair of rushing scores as well this season. Messiah Swinson has a team-high 50 receiving yards while Elijhah Badger has a team-high 4 catches for 38 yards. On defense, Merlin Robertson has a team-high 11 total tackles while Chris Edmonds and Kyle Soelle each have an interception as well this season.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys will try to build off of their 58-44 win over Central Michigan in their last game. Spencer Sanders has thrown for 406 yards on 68.3% passing while also rushing for 57 yards and a pair of scores. Dominic Richardson leads Oklahoma State with 61 rushing yards and a touchdown while Braydon Johnson has a team-high 6 receptions for 133 receiving yards. Brennan Presley also has 5 catches for 83 yards and John Paul Richardson has 73 receiving yards as well on the year. On defense, Kendal Daniels and Mason Cobb each have a team-high 11 total tackles with Daniels logging an interception as well and Tyler Lacy and Collin Oliver each have a sack this season.

I’m honestly having a hard time with this one, because I don’t think week 1 did either team any favors. It’s hard to get a read on Arizona State with a win over Northern Arizona, but Oklahoma State took their foot off of the gas like I’ve never seen before against Central Michigan, going from 51-15 up in the second half to winning by just two scores. All in all, I’m going with the over here because I just think that Oklahoma State’s going to rip off a lot of big plays like they did against CMU, but I’m still not trusting this Cowboy defense, even against Arizona State. Give me the over here.
